Default Iron block to CTS-V motor mount upper brackets

I recently purchased Steve's (05CTSV) custom upper motor mount brackets.

There seems to be quite a demand for them right now.

I'm going to front the cost to get a bunch of these welded by a local fab shop

How many people want a set, and how much are you willing to pay?

obviously, the more people want some, the less they will cost.

This would completely replace the bracket that goes from the block to the engine mount, right?

If you're going this route, why not fab brackets for the LSA mounts instead of the crap V1 replacement designs. Stock LSA mints are $50/Ea and are both hydraulic and captured so they don't fail.

Please link to this mount.

I can have 10 sets made for $110 a set powder coated black. With PayPal, vendor fees and shipping, $150 shipped would be enough to fund a free set of mounts for myself, a tank of gas and maybe a steak dinner when it's all said and done.

If you want them, I'll gladly sell you these for what Steve was asking and send them right for you after I get mine made. I won't have the time to do this for a few months, and really don't need the extra money. If you want to do it, you have my number.

Also, you don't need to pay vendor fees since there's nobody offering a cts-v iron block bracket.

The V2 mount is taller and the top anchor point is angled whereas the V1 mount is shorter and straight as the V1 engine bracket is angled.

I had a thread on them somewhere just never had time to fab the brackets. I'd buy them for sure.

Seems like there might be other options for mounts so I'll see how that plays out. I'll let you know, thanks.

Ps...I'm not sure what you're saying about vendor fees. I'm at work and don't have time to search. Thanks

Usually the rule is that as long as there is no official vendor selling a similar product, you don't have to register as a vendor. I've seen various interpretations of it, though...

So basically with a top motor mount plate modification, we could use a factory v2 hydraulic mount and hopefully regain a little factory smoothness? And all this would take is a reworked motor mount block plate?

Thanks

It actually might be easier to omit the lower bracket entirely and bolt the V2 mount directly to the subframe and fab a new upper bracket. If you get a V2 mount and play with it you'll see what I mean.

I am interested in this . I have been scouring trying to find an L33 5.3 shortblock just so I didn't have to fab new mounts lol.... lazy yes, but not having the extra 80-100 lbs on the nose is my justification lol.

After kicking this idea around, I gotta say I'm happy with my latest set of CS mounts. I got the newest soft ones they sell and the car is smooth enough for me so there isn't enough gain to make this worthwhile from where I sit.

Radeon, how many sets do you plan on making? Is the V1 the only LS platform that needs these adapters? I looked hard for a set of these just to have because I like having options but the V1 crowd seems to be the only time I've seen them mentioned.

Of all the applications I have seen I think the V1 is the only goofy variant that uses the wide pattern on the block mounting plate.

The part is essentially v1 specific. I'm not going to sit here and say it won't work for other things.

The fab shop has the brackets to mimic, but I removed my motor mounts to give him a definite dimension as we are revising the original design to make the access to the bolt hole a little easier. In turn, the plate may be a little bit longer, but, it will be easier to get tools into the pocket.

The run is beginning today after he compared them to the stock mounts.

I'm only starting with six sets. This leaves me with 5 new ones, and 1 original (which will sell for 75 shipped).

I need interested people to tell me what they want. Please text or pm me at 724-420-7785.
