Default 04 v1 shifting issues

I have an 04 cts v1 just had the trans rebuilt. Worked great for a week and now it wont shift into 1st or 6th. Has all new shifter bushings. Has an ls7 clutch installed with all new fluid. Any ideas

Won't roll into either gear ? i.e. manually sync rpm/speed and slide into 1st ?

Either clutch issue or gm skip shift but i disconnected that and it made no difference. So now i am checking the clutch mc to see if it is bad

Skip shift would only affect shift into 2nd, it forces 1->4.

If 2-5 shift normally, than I would not think clutch is an issue.

Should always replace the slave when you do a clutch, cheap insurance. Could be that but sounds internal to the tranny to me, something wasn't replaced that should have been or reassembled incorrectly so as to prematurely wear syncros. Don't assume the rebuild was perfect.

I would bet on bleeding of the clutch. The LS7 swap is notorious for a time consuming bleed.

Mine took a while, but that was partly because I was using the pumping method when I should have just done a straight down-up, down-up until it was free of bubbles. 82k later and I could stand to flush and bleed again.
