2002 Pontiac Firebird vs. 2005 CTSV
In all honesty, would the Firebird even stand a chance, or would it be closer than I would think. My dad has a CTSV and a buddy has the Firebird, and they are going to line then up this weekend!! Which one will win??

I'm quoting a website (no flames please) only because I have no "real" stock time slips to compare. I'd say it will be close but I give the edge to the V with a good driver and relatively equal driver weights. The quality of the V's launch will likely be the deciding factor.
Let us know how it shakes out...

It should be a good race, drivers being what will determine the outcome, IMO, anyway.
Let us know, but, I would give the V an edge if the guy can launch without hoppin off the road.

Well, about ten feet behind me I have a 2000 silver, WS6. Equipped with a Pro 5.0 shifter, a K&N filter, coolant bypass, and MAC springs. In that car, at orlando speedway, on Z06 rolling stock(stock 18's and F1's) the car went 13.01 @ 107.79 launching at 2000rpm, spinning ten feet, then hookin'.
Typical CTS-V times are?.....13.20's????

Stock for stock it will be a good race but like everyone else said I would put my money on the V. There is about a 600 pound weight advantage for the Firebird and about a 30rwhp and much better gear advantage for the V.

I think the V will win against a stock WS6. I raced a V on Monday from 40-70 (very short race) and I pulled maybe an inch or two just before redline. He sounded and looked stock but I don't know for sure. Needless to say I was very impressed and gave the guy a thumbs up and he turned off.

depends on the driver. I took my stock orange 99 SS out to the track a few weeks ago and busted off a 12.84 @ 104 with a 6-speed, on regular tires. So, stock f-bodies 'can' run 12s when driven properly. Not sure about the CTS-V, who has gone the quickest in a stock one so far?

Quickest stock so far was 13.0X at 109 + I believe.
Quickest Maggied was 12.7X at 113 + I believe.
60 foot times suck for the V, but hooking up is even more scary with our weak diff's.

0-60 and 1/4
2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (WS6) 4.9 13.4
2004 Cadillac CTS-V 5.1 13.4
the trans am should win lower end, it all depends on the driver.
