We did a few highway runs and I was just amazed, passing power and top-end reminded me of a Modded Trans Am I earlier ran with. On the way home he told me he lined up with a chipped EVO from a 45 mph roll and put at least 4 cars on him by 120ish MPH. He also told me that he raced earlier against a 370RWHP Supra from a dig and said how close of a race it was. I was not expecting this heavy lux-sedan to hit similar numbers I did when my 03 Cobra was stock. I have a scanned copy of the time slip for those who want to see it. What do most guys out here get?

I'm from NJ so I can say this- Another guido in a trans am. The reason I atleast bought this car was to be fast as well as luxurious. I wanted an American car that wasn't the typical two door coupe, with muscle car attatched to it. Personally I needed something alittle more refined. I have nothing against WS6 TAs or Vettes. They are bad *** for the money, great styling, unlimited potential for power and mods. The V stock is beautiful. Don't be afraid to admit it. Now can't we all just get along?

I have a LT1 camaro and the V. Ive driven many ZO6's and still love the luxury of the V. Having that much power and still riding like a Caddy! I think the Vs are crazy sleepers, and dont have much problem winning against most people I run.

LoL the ws6 guy has got to be jealous, lord knows I am. I got to go with one of my buddies for a test drive this past weekend in an 05 ctsv he is lookin at and my god is it a beautiful car! Love that front honeycomb grill and the interior is gorgeous. Plus like everyone has said its a nasty sleeper, most people have no idea whats under the hood, they just assume its a regular run of the mill cts, that is until they get smoked. Just out of curiosity, whats the cheapest anyone has seen a new ctsv? I just finished grad school and im seriously thinking of getting a ctsv and would like to have a price in mind to bargain for if I do decide to go that route. BTW my buddy was looking at an 05 that was price at $58,000. Is that too much? Its pretty much optioned out too. Thanks and any info would be greatly appreciated!

you should be able to find a new one around 48k or less even....they only come optioned out.

Yea i was just basing that on the fact that it had more options than any other car i have ever seen haha. Yean i was telling him that 58K seemed a bit pricey so Ill make sure he looks elsewhere for one. I actually was walking around boston yetserday while i was on my lunch break from work and a sick looking cts-v drove by and the thing sounded mean! He had to stop at a stop light about 20 yards down the street and I got to talk to him real quick and he had TPIS longtubes, gutted cats, and a B&B exhaust. It sounded almost as mean as my z28 with the macs, gutted cats, and slp lm. Def a pimp *** ride!

just bringin this back, gonna go tomorrow to the track (moroso) , bone stock still, and wanted to speak to the thread starter about his friends driving technique.
MAybe it could be done on the DR'z and not so high launch? but he cut 1.9 60ft, thats nice!!! You see, there is a way. As soon as these 60ft'z start gettng normal, like onto the 1.wateverish...than we will see the true potential of this car...stock!!!!

Although it has a sedan body the CTS-V is a world class performer. Tuned at the Nuringburg it handles just as well as it accelerates. The issues most owners have at the drag strip is launching it. Launch too hard and you'll be replacing the rear end. The V also wheel hops alot too. They are capable of low 13's all day and in the right conditions a high 12 sec time is possible.
