Question Magna Flow cat back for the V

Has anyone used the Magnaflow cat back exhaust system on their V? It is almost half the price of the Borla and Corsa Systems.

Ditto here best exhaust out there for the V, regardless of price!

Shane that work here has a Magnaflow on his V and it sounds very good. I think I would still go with the Corsa if I had it to do over again though. Price wasn't my deciding factor when I bought this car so it should be when I'm buying an exhaust either.

do you mean louder or in tone. Im expecting for it to louder than stock but realistically how much more and if there is any drone/resonation inside the cabin....basically, is it very noticeable while cruising or is it possible to forget until you standout side and hear it for yourself.

It has a much deeper tone and yes its alteast twice as loud as the factory system (inside and out).

They are stock sound clips found on http://www.magnaflow.com

Sounds good doesn't it? I wonder what it would sound like with the kooks headers.

louder and probably a bit more "raw" in tone. Well, actually, it might make the tone move from a deep pitch to a mid-prodominant tone. But badass nontheless!!!

My goal is to have the most power out of the ls6 wihtout raising the stock DB levels. quite tricky and it cold be done....

And yes, that magna catback sounds awesome!!!

I've been a fan of Magnaflow for some time and have had now on 86 5.0 Capri, C4 Corvette, Acura and most recently on my V. When I picked up my V, the dealer had a V with a Billiy Boat exhaust, so I've heard both. The sound of the Billy Boat is significantly "nastier" (which I like) and while the Magnaflow is a big improvement over stock, I will eventually end up with the Billy Boat.

you know, i have been having this conflict circling around in my head and im wat to see what ya'll think....

Ok, we all know that we are driving a caddy which is a pimp automobile well known, though not necesarily accepted, around the world. Its traits are comfort, luxury, class. Caddy is GM'z front for its latest technological advances.

However, with the introduction of the new V-series line, performance (REAL performance!!) has been intorduced, "again", therefore changing the image of cadilllac.

The ls6/tremec 6spd combination in the cts-v is a great combo capable of yielding astonishing performance gains. I'll say it again as i have said it before, just like the b18c from honda or the sr20det or even the rb26dett from nissan, the chevy lsx motor is the tuner motor of all v-8's!! Its very versitile and simple enough to take its already proven, reliable configuration and achieve even higher levels of street terrorizing power!!!!

So, to my point....im having this issue that though its a ls6 motor, its in a caddy. And a caddy should be stealthy if mated with perfomrance. Therefore a nasty sounding exhaust, IMO, just doesnt match the overall look, feel and style of the cts-v.

Now, i know you guys are like....HOMO!!! Furthermore, i have seen a silver cts-v around here in miami, brickell area with a b&b (i think) and, WOW, that is one awesome sounding exhaust...

but i feel its just to much for the cts-v...

I dont know, this is my issue and i want to make as much power as possible without waking the dead...thats what i have my camaro for!!! And that is why i have been following these magnaflow threads to see what kind of options i have...

oh, well, i know myself and i might just give up and get a b&b because i absolutely love the sound of these motors thorugh a free flowing exhaust, expecially with the b&b mufflers....i just dont know if it matches the overall look of the V......

Default exhaust

I have run all three systems, B&B,Corsa and Mag. I sold the first two.

B&B is just too loud and drones (with resonator). Its heavy.
Corsa has to many joints, its very heavy, no drone.
Magnaflow little drone, nice bass, consistant sound, very light
weight.

B&B is the prettiest FWIW.

Last - you're also running the Magnaflow with R/T cats. The R/T cats might make it a little louder that the stock cats.
