Default Z06 to CTS-V??

Well, I’m torn. A local dealer just received a CTSV so I decided to take it for a spin.. Extremely nice car! Great power, super smooth ride. Thing is I currently have a Z06. Love the car, but not functional at all.

Just wondering if anyone has made the jump and doesn’t regret it? The Z is a great car, but it’s not a daily driver, hence the CTS V.
Anyone have any comments or acutally traded up?

Thanks for any input in the decision making...

Edit: This is a C5 Z..

I've done this (C6 to a CTS-V). The practicality was great in the Caddy. Now I'm selling it for financial reasons. Great car - especially with a cam and supercharger

Where you happy with the power change? That'll most likely be my biggest issue...

I didnt really notice much of a "power" difference. Up top I did note it was a bit less "sleeky fast" - but the Caddy is a great alternative for a Corvette Owner that A) wants to stay with GM and B) wants to have a practical fast sedan thats totally mod friendly.

Good luck with your decision!

like val said i really dont think youll have a problem with the power... the only time youll miss it is if you take it to the track often, but Ive had a c5 z06 owner ride in my car and he thought they were dead even as far as speed

No CTSvFl...I meant the C5Z06 and the stock CTS-V.

I wouldnt compare a SC CTS-V to a C6.

CTS-V all the way!

*PS Side note my C6 was a pretty stock C6 - heads, cam, headers, exahust, intake and tune ..no FI.

Everybody has fast 'vettes, but you'll be one of the select few with an under 5 second Cadillac.

You'll love the car, you'll love the attention. Do it.

I have a C6 that will take on all Maggied Vs !!!
J.K., the ProCharger on my C6 should be done by tomorrow, thus making the V my slow stepchild.

I test drove a ZO6 before I bought my CTS-V if that counts. The CTS-V is much more practical and comfortable. It is also the ultimate sleeper. I never get even a second glance from cops. I love it. It is stealth.

Huh? This forum is made up of power junkies, and the CTS-V is the first Cadillac ever produced that runs 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. Nothing too hard to understand there.

Thanks for all the input, fellas! Still going back and forth. I love the style of both cars and the Z gets TONS of attention..

Here's a pic of the Z just for giggles..

Here's a spitting image of the CTS V i'm looking at..

Does anyone know what the real 0-60 time is for the CTSV? I think the Z06 is 4.8 or 4.9?

if were talking 0-60 the z06 does in what like mid 3's but yea in a quarter mile it does low 11's stock thats a big difference with our high 13's(that is stock, not like 2c's or waitforme's Vs). Then again I cant put my 2 year old in a z06 hence the chubby sedan

Not to argue with you, but your numbers are a little off:

2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 0-60mph 4.1 1/4 mile 12.5

2005 Cadillac CTS-V 0-60mph 4.8 1/4 mile 13.2 (C&D)

Got my numbers from here:

I tend to look at numbers posted by REAL people on the forums... ones that track their cars over and over again <--Those numbers tend to be "realistic".

C&D, MotorTrend, AutoMag, etc ....

what i meant is that 0-60 is a magazine measure of speed... on hear you wont hear people talking about 0-60, it doesnt matter, the 1320 is all that there is when it comes to acceleration test.
