I did the swap for a cts armrest several months back, Is a lot more comfortable & the added storage comes in handy also. Can't remember the exact cost but it was around $120 from gm parts direct

It does add more room but the V arm rest is lower for a reason...better angle for shifting. thats why it almost 4 inches lower than the CTS one. Also the stitching on the V matches the seats where the CTS arm rest does not.

I got a complete center console off ebay for 70 bucks, took what i needed and sold the rest for 35 dollars. so i got one for 35. Very please with the xtra compartment and does not affect my shifting at all.

So what exactly does an MF'er squeak like?

Ditto on what SHCKR and Nikon said- I'd be cautious of losing elbow room while shifting (depends on how you're built, I suppose), as well as the matching stitching.

I swapped my console mainly because the original one didn't stay where it was designed to stay. If I recall, lots of people run in to this -- lean on it and it'll "break" and drop another few inches and offer less support anyway.
