Me too. But Car & Driver reports a 500 hp LS7. WTF?????

It's also supposed to have a much more substantial rear end.

I trust Motor Trend more only because they have a rendered model picture. (and because I want it to be true). what kind of numbers do you guys think it would be able to put out at 3600 lbs.

3600 pounds at 600 hp, should produce, traction being available of course, a hi 11 sec qtr mile.

Well, if they dont have the rear fixed, no worries...I do.......now if the site mods would approve My vendor status....HINT HINT!

I hope they fix the rear on those... it's the reason I didn't get one of those as a daily driver... and it made me really sad deep inside..

600hp is 600 very good reasons to have the germans scared.

It'll be nice, but you know it's gonna cost just as much as an M5...so I don't see how the germans can be worried..it'll be as fast if not faster than thier top-o-the line...but they're still gonna kill it with interior quality, reliability, etc. They shouldda just fixed the rear and left it alone.

I'll believe it when I see it.

BTW, there are some 4,000+lb 480-500 h.p. V's running high 11's now.

I wouldn't be too sure- the new CTS interor is stunning. MT rated the interior of the STS-V as being nicer and more user friendly than the M5, and the STS-V interior has nothing on the new CTS (you've got to see it in person- especially the light pipes).

'08 CTS interior (minus the wood) with over 500hp and a solid rear for under $60k will take this car from niche status into the mainstream.

yeah, but the idrive is the only thing that holds the m5 back. and a monkey can use idrive. it just takes one day to get used to it.

however, my interest is peaked. i'd like to see it irl.

Those horsepower numbers are at the wheels to run a hi 11, not flywheel hp. Which means they are making in the 550-575 at the flywheel.

You have to be able to get off the line, if you cant more power does no good til you are rolling.

im still trying to figure out how they figure the car is goning to be lighter? I thought the current V was 3800+ lbs.

Did anyone hear a price est. yet? I would have to guess it would be in Z06 price range naturally aspirtated, but what about the blown version?

either way as long as it has an LS7, blown or not, it should be pretty bad ***

Ain't that the truth!!

The new Z06 is over $60k. I expect a blown LS7 V to be over that.

i figure it like this..there is no way the car will run under 60Gs. More likely to float with the C63 and M3 in mid 60s. Then suppose you get the car. You know if you are on this forum that you will wanna mod it, because there will always be something faster. so, you have to wait god knows how long for the mods to come out and then they are only gonna be that much more expensive!! Im sticking with my 06...
