Default Widest rear tire size under stock V

I have tried to search this but as we all know that thing isn't very efficient. So... Will 275 45 18's go under the back of the V? I have them under my 04 Goat and it is tight. Just not sure if this tire size will slip under the V.
Thanks.

I've got 275/40/18 gsd3's on my rear, No Problems, think you'll find the 40's are better size match to your front if you have 245/45/18

What skydiver said. That's the same size setup I have. Works great.

Just go with the 255 40 18's all around. I am running the Falken RT-615 in this size and I have no traction probs because of the slightly wider tread and softer compound.

The 245 45 18 F/275 40 18 R will also work if you're looking for more traction.

Are you guys putting the 275/40s on the stock wheels, or are you all running something wider? I would think 275/40 isn't really optimal on the stock wheels, but I could be wrong. I just picked up a V on Friday and it needs tires, hence the questions.

I have BFG KDWs on my V's stock wheels.

245/40-R18's up front (BFG doesn't make the stock sized 245/45-R18's regretfully). I do think that you can get up to a 255/45-R18 up front and possibly 265/40s and 265/45s with safe width spacers. I believe I've seen people discuss using up to a 1/4" spacer with a stock setup but don't quote me.

I have 275/40-R18's on the rear stock wheels with no rubbing issues. I tried to fit them up front but they rub on the upper control arm. This sized tire is nearly identical to the stock 245/45-R18.

If I could figure out a fix, I'd like to have 275/40-R18s on all four corners or go with the 265/40R-18s to allow for tire rotations.

My rear 285/40's are on the stock wheels and do not rub, and look so much better than the narrow 245's

I am running 275/30/20 Michelin Pilot Sports A/S out back and 245/35/20 up front. 20x10 in the rear and 20x8.5 up front.
They ride like factory, no jarring or anything. Noticeable difference in grip out back

What offset or backspacing are those 10" wide wheels, chris614? Got any pics of the car from the rear or the rear quarter to see how they fill out the wheel wells?

Nice color.

I will try and get some pixs from the rear tomorrow when i pick it up from the body shop ( Had to have a new front bumper cover painted and installed )

As for the offset ,Larry @ Boze Alloys/Ze Forged handles all of that

They custom make wheels for each application. These are 2 piece Billet Aluminum, took 5 weeks to make.
clearance by the Brake calipers is so close but perfect. Love these shoes

The spacing was 6.375 for the fronts and 7.00 for the rears

I had 285/35/18 GY GSD3s on my rears and they fit fine with no rubbing (stock rims).
They are also for sale if interested and have decent tread left.

I have 2 brand new BFG KD "Killer Dry" tires in 275 45 18's for sale. Awesome rubber, they hook and handle like crazy. $375 shipped to the lower 48.

Thanks for the info. I'm sticking with stock size for now, but will end up getting wider wheels someday I'm sure. Always good to know what actually works.
