Default Anyone have BFG KDW-1 or KD tires on their car ???

I don't like the KDW-2's (too "sport compact" looking). The KDW-TT (traditional tread) and KD tires I like are not available in EXACT factory size. Wondering if another size will work, even if I go wider with spacers. THANKS!

I keep a set of BFG drag radials on mine. I realize that the tire is different, but I use 265/40-18's. Maybe that will help with your sizing concerns.

Interesting. I'm seeing a possibility of 265/40 or 275/40. Can anyone post pics of these tires "crammed" onto factory wheels? THANKS!

i have the kdw's all around and like the performance. the fronts are 245/45 rear 285/40. the 285's are a wide but look good on the factory rims, the tire shop said it wasnt bad to put on either. they have rub on me once or twice, but that was with about 300 pounds of **** in the trunk hitting a nasty speed bump the fronts are holding up really well, and you cant really judge by my backs (still haven't found a tire that holds up to 3rd gear burnouts) you can look at my pic's in the sticky at the top, my pic's are on the bottom half of the 3rd page.

I had the same size DRs on my V for about 330' and then a really loud double-barrel shotgun went off in my backseat. I guess they really hook up, but have been retired to boxes in the garage until I buy a custom rear.

My daily tire is a Bridgestone Potenza 275/40-18. It fits fine and maintains very close to the same tire height as stock, keeping the final drive ratio consistent with stock. I have a picture in the picture thread.

I keep stock sized 245/45-18's up front.

I popped the IRS on Potenzas at the track - mostly wheel hop. So far...no problems on the street launching from a dig. I'll probably go back to the track and actually drive the car hard to see how much improvement I get out of the auto trans.

Default Tire Options

I'm using PS2s (245/45 front and 275/40 rear).

To use the 275/40s in the rear, the rear wheels were widened 1" (to 9.5) by Weldcraft. I also have 5mm billet spacers from Fred Goeske for suspension clearance.

Stock appearing (except for tire width), ride is more quiet and smoother. As far as grip, straight line traction is much better and lateral traction seems to be close to the run-flats.

I will need to get a spare.

V + 500RWHP + dragstrip + DRs + drivers that never listen = a grenaded case and expensive towing bill and towels in the driveway and neighbors asking dumba$$ questions

Did it once, never again...
