Where can I get this done and how much does this normally cost??

Seriously shipping is gonna be $$$. There was a set on eBay for $2000+ which is probably cheaper.

damn I never knew it was so expensive. So its cheaper to buy Chrome OEM wheels than to send them to get Chromed?

Unless you live near a shop that does it. I'm guessing $300+ per wheel. So if there's a shop close it could be cheaper.

That said I heard rumors of the heating process actually weakens the wheel. Anyone know the facts on that?

no thats powdercoating heating process and its basically a myth unless the powdercoater is an idiot and lets them sit in the oven for a day

I had good luck with OEM Rims. Give 'em a call 714-940-1761.

They offer them straight out for $1400 or exchange for $550 + shipping both ways (about $200 for me) I am very happy with them.

I think they're the same guys I got mine from...pretty good, one of the rims they sent me was bent, but they fixed it fairly quickly....as for pics

Capital Wheels in CA chromed my RX-8 stockers for $600. They were 18" as well, so I can't imagine they'd charge any more for a CTS-V wheel.

If you're in the Houston area and your wheels are in excellent shape- I'd be glad to swap you my chrome wheels in exchange for yours with some cash.
