Default Extended warranty ???s

Our "new" V has a month or so of factory warranty left and I want to purchase an extended warranty.

What is the best way to go, GM Major Guard or 3rd party?

Any preferred dealers out there that offer discounts?

I bought one for an Acura and saved about $800 over what my local dealer qouted me. It was an Acura delaer that gave discounts to forum members on MDX.org. He took my order over the phone and sent me the contract. I'm looking for a good deal like that for the V. The MDX just went in for a grinding sound/shudder on upshifts. It was the torque converter... $1,671 later it's fixed.

I purchased the Z06 with the Major Guard warranty and it has more than paid for itself. The last visit was a seat rail/adjuster, passenger side fuel tank and a few other things... $2,690. I'm a firm beliver in extended warranties

Anyone had an extended warranty experience with their V?

I'm in the same boat you are. My roommate says he can get me one for 48 months for $2000, UNLIMITED mileage. he works for a company that sells cars on ebay. I'm waiting to see the information for the warranty company before I buy into that though.

After, some extensive research and an annoying call from a 3rd party broker I've decided to go with the GMPP Major Guard. I got a good qoute on a 4 yr/48K mile w/ $100 deductible.
Anybody waiting 'till the last minute to buy an GMPP be aware that the prices skyrocket @ the 36,001 mark. The time doesn't matter, but the mileage does.
About $750 more for Vs in the 36,001-50,000 range.
