Default 2006 XLR wheel compatibility...

I have the option to buy some aftermarket 18x8.5 wheels from a 2006 XLR and I was wondering if they would fit on camaros or corvettes?

thanks

Need more info. F- & Y-bodies are 120.75 with offsets in the neighborhood of +50. Find the specs on XLR wheels and you'll get your answer.

are you sure about the 120.75

this website says otherwise?

this is the info from the seller, I'm not sure it's completely accurate:

These wheels came off of a 2006 Cadillac XLR. We are not wheel experts and do not know which vehicles they will fit. We did not buy these new, they came as an extra set with an XLR that we took in trade. The XLR takes a 5x120 bolt pattern. They are about 7 1/4 inches deep from the back of where the bolts are secured to the inside edge of the rim. Please contact a local dealer or mechanic to determine compatibility to your car. We are not responsible if you buy these wheels and they do not fit your car.

this is what I found on other aftermarket xlr wheels
Offset: 46mm Bolt Pattern: 5-475.... which is the same as 5x120.65 I believe.

from the seller it says 7 1/4 from end of wheel to hub contact point I think... any idea what offset they would be?

120.75, 120.65, same thing, I may have thought 7 because .75 = 3/4 = nice round number. In any case, the important distinction is between 120.65 (English) and 120.00 (Metric). Many people have had issues with mixing those two bolt patterns, figuring a fraction of a millimeter won't matter...it does.

The seller probably has the pattern wrong when he says 120, or else didn't think the .65 mattered, I dunno. If they're XLR wheels, they'll be the XLR bolt pattern, so you don't need to worry about that. The offset per their description would be 7.25"-(8.5"/2) = 3" = 76mm = that's huge, might not be right. The offset of those other wheels you found (+46mm) would work, tending to stick out a tad bit more, nothing extreme. I wish I could remember the stock offsets for vettes.

The bolt Pattern is 5 x 4.75 or 5 x 4.120.65. That .65" does matter. The GTO is 5 x 120 and there were a few guys trying to run Camaro wheels and had issues. If the bolt patterns is not exact it will put lateral stress on teh wheel studs and WILL break them. They might last for a while, but failure is just a matter of time.

XLR wheels have the same bolt pattern as the corvette and camaro. I'm not sure on back apacing though.

hmmm... I wonder if my fikse I have on my car right now are the wrong pattern... I got them in a trade and I assumed they were right (they were on his camaro). But I have had a constant problem with wheel studs braking off, I'll have to check that out. thanks.

Those wheels look soo skinny a=on the XLR's in person,...I don't know what you'd want to put them on and make look "good". I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but,...out of everything offered on an XLR,...everything...my biggest complaint,...my only real complaint(besides some interior crap)...is the LACK of proper wheels on that car. If you want, i'll put a set of XLR wheels on a vette tomorrow but,...I gotta tell you,..you probably would not like how it would look bro. Just saying,..I know it has ALOT to do with the tires you choose but, the stock 245's suck *****. Even the V wheels are far too thin but, a decent step forward.

Just my opinion,...as I see severla XLR's a day. Everytime,...EVERYTIME..I think,..WTF where they thinking? The XLR-V should run C6 Z06 styled flares...and the regular XLR should run stock C6 sized rubber.

Sorry dude..just don't want you to spend money without knowing the full end of the spectrum. If you seen them in person,...and like them,..do it...but,..just so you know, they appear to think for the Y body,..and probably an F body as well.
