Afew other members told me not to waste my money or time on a shifter. They told me that it doesn't make that much of a difference?

The first model UUC shifters had that problem. They have fixed it with the current design.

You're kidding, right?

I am a big fan of not wasting money. That's why I bought the B&M shifter for $200 (WELL worth the money). Wasting money would have been (in my opinion) paying $$$$ for a UUC shifter (about $370 I think), especially when the B&M is a shorter throw anyway.

The shifter was deifinitely one of my favorite mods, not that I have a lot, but I'm just saying.

It felt like a glorified STOCK shifter to me but, let it be known that I am biased. Been driving NOTCHY styled shifters since I was 16(pro 5.0 @ 16 in my mustang)...hurst in the vette now, which is like a damm ratchet.

The only shifter that I ever liked, is the KATECH. It's a solid 1 piece shifter, not like the metal/ rubber/metal UUC which to me feels sloppy.

The KATECH, did have some real mild harmonics that transfered lightly from the trans mission but,..nothing that some insulation oculdn't help out on.

A shifter in general, should make tons of difference. To me, the UUC feels stock. But, again, thats me.

I agree. The one time I felt a UUC shifter, I thought it was the stock one. The difference between it and my B&M was night and day - the B&M has a shorter throw and a much more notchy feel.

I may get a B&M one also. I cant see paying $500 for a shifter. Would you just have to put some dyno mat in thier to help with noise?

I bought the UUC and love it. There is zero sound and I think it made a significant difference.

Some people have, but I haven't found it necessary. The only time you can even hear any noise is with the window all up and the stereo off. Even then, it doesn't bother me a bit.

When you do the shifter you might as well do the bushings at the same time. Luke at Lindsay cadillac can get you the bushings.

I was told by people that swear by their B&M shifters to use UUC bushings.
By the way:.... I went back to the stock intake, untill I do cam, heads, headers and a pulley. I gave the K&N 450 miles and no change. I think the car was tuned when they put the exhaust on ? I'm Stll a little confused about it!
