I have read a few threads and would like to ask again. What do you think is the best overall Intake?
Thanks

If you ask me, I say black lug nuts, black wheel caps, black reverse lights and removing the front license plate bracket. Sorry, what was your question??

the 06-07 center caps would be spot on, along with finishing the reverse lights...other than that what a nice ride.
(it's nice either way, but like they said, ur not done...yet)
just curious, what does a paint shop charge these days to
black out all the lighting lenses?

I am also painting the calipers black, lightly spraying badges black and changing the center wheel caps to the black ones like the steering wheel badge.

The issue with the stock intake is the squeeze tube. Lingenfelter's cai ($250)kit re-uses the stock tube but it has a nicer heat sheild than the K&N. The K&N has a nice intake tube that is less restrictive than the stock one.

I got my K&N from an ebay seller for $210 shipped, which was by far the best price I could find.

Default Intake

I used the LPE airbox (LPE uses a much larger element and has a better airbox design) with a home made tube.

Starting at the throttle body: 4" elbow, 4" sleeve, 4' to 3 1/2" reducer, 3 1/2" sleeve and finally a 3 1/2" hump connector at the MAF.

The reduction step accomplishes two goals, allowing clearance at the radiator/fan attachment point and also allowing for the future installation of a 4" MAF tube w/LS7 MAF stalk. It also clears the P/S pulley nicely.

The sleeves were also sandblasted and painted with black crinkle paint.

Default Catch Can

The valve covers are teed together to the small filter as the clean air part of the system.

An oil vapor/catch cannister was added right after the above photos were taken.

The dirty air tube was removed and now the dirty air side runs from the valley cover PCV nipple through an LPE vapor cannister and back to the intake manifold nipple. The LPE vapor cannister bottom fitting (condensed oil vapor return) is connected to an aluminum catch can mounted in the lower fascia.

I really didn't need this stuff (no oil issues whatsoever since the cam is very, very mild and the engine assembly was done on the tight side) but had purchased it just in case and decided to install (a year later) it since I already had it.

Are your wheels painted or powercoated? Also your fogs lights are sprayed or film?
