I have had both in 05 models and echo what has been said. The GTO will haul nothing(back seat or trunk) but a couple of soft luggage bags. Replacement parts are expensive as most come from Australia so I switched back to US made car. The G8 might change that.

If you want a large looking Cavalier get the goat, if you want to turn heads get the V.

came from an 04 gto to an 05 cts v hands down better car lot more fun more rare dont see your self coming and going i almost bought a c6 but i like the V better for the rarity. go drive the gto and the V make your choice but i will not take a second look at the gto if you can afford a V.

i agree w the cavalier comment, but the v does NOT turn heads. no one knows that it's any different than a regular cts...however, when they hear you roaring by, they do kind of give a bewildered look while trying to figure out how a caddy can sound like that.

i live in one of the wealthiest areas in the country, so unfortunately no one knows what the hell it is...the only caddy's around here are the escalades on 24's that the trophy wives drive their youngins to school in. can be kind of frustrating when ppl think our car is just a regular cts...always gotta explain that CTS-V is to CTS as M3 is 3 Series - that's when ppl understand, but they still follow up with "nice, but i never knew it existed."

when i bought it, it was the fact that they are so rare that attracted me...m3's and m5's are dime a dozen, but i like that there aren't a million v's running around - makes seeing them on the road all that more exciting!

4 door vette's may be appealing in other parts of the country, but here a vette is not an impressive car by any means...considered the cheap way to get a fast car. personally, i love the raw power of them...hence why i can appreciate the v.

i concur with ur exact analogy about m3 is to beemer as saddle is to horse
explaination with the general public,... i've had vett owners say "wow, that must have been one heck of a bitch to shoehorn that ls2 in that cts"...lol
those are the cult followers and not true car enthusists that deserve a logical answer...so i say "yeah it sucked, but i got it done".

i too have my tint on my sig for the simple fact that some newer folks want to tint their windows and and may be curious what others have gone with. seeing a sig can be a great way to see what other ppl have decided when doing various "mods" (granted, by ls1tech standards, tinting isn't really a mod, per se)...obviously you shouldn't blindly copy others, but sigs can open doors of discussion that lead to an educated choice. clearly i'm going beyond the tinting here...but you see what i'm sayin.

I agree. Though, I got a call yesterday from a random girl (friend of a friend) that drove by my office yesterday. She apparently was driving by, saw the car, and had to call... "Oh my god, is that YOUR Cadillac? It's soooo hot!"

Guess I have plans for the weekend ...
