Yeah I'm jealous of whisler's Raptor. Though not of the MPG lol. Wish they'd get smart and ecoboost that thing.

What does he average? Because mostly around town im only getting about 11-12mpg out of the V. the long trip to OC and back along with a lot of 1-2nd gear cruising yeilded a mixed average of about 14.7mpg. Nothing ground breaking.

Thanks guys. Its a pretty sweet truck. With the 6.2 I average 11.8 with most being freeway driving.

This weekend we drove 300 miles and with straight freeway driving at 60-80 mph we averaged 15.7.

Yeah, the eco boost would be sweet. That's a bad *** engine.

ouch that is pretty bad. But i was able to get mine over 23mpg on all highway. Then I got to OC and did a donut or two and some power slides. Working on learning how to do a RWD manual burnout... I suck at life.

13.3@107mph.

I mean im new to the CTS-V world. But stock for stock it sounds close.
You shoul have walked him easily. Even with Cams, a full exhaust and a tune they are lucky to pick up 20rwhp. They are pretty much maxed from the factory. The extra weight is what killed you. I think I remember you saying you were over 300lbs. Not being a dick but that is like having an extra passenger compared to an "average" driver. Add your wife and 50 lbs of added gear and the 3-4 car advantage you would have had is now a wash.

well thats about where we stood. And this guy was defonitly "average" sized compaired to my giant self.

Still want to have headers/cam/heads(or springs,retainers,pushrods)/ported intake mani within a year.... Is that enough to break 400RWHP on a LS2?

A week at the muscle car cruise and I want MORE.

I broke 400rwhp with K&N CAI, Kooks 1 3/4", no cats, cam and magnaflow. You will easily do it if you add heads.

If you do a cam you will need to do springs pushrods etc.

thats how I understand it. Cams and either heads or springs/pushrods.

I have the intake and catback. if i get these headers should I go intake mani next or just get cam/springs/rods and tune?

Also would it be worth it to buy a ported LS2 intake manifold?

They are good for about 10 rwhp. There was one in the Classifieds a week or so ago. With a Cam, headers and valvetrain you will easily break 400rwhp. I am installing a lightweight flywheel as well. The stocker is a 45+lb turd. Most gain 10+rwhp from that alone.

Biggie I think with the LS7 clutch you'd have pulled a car length or so on the M3.

that's one reason im here..... cause I dont know next to squat about motors.... but everyone seems to help. Biggie im getting all my installs done in about 2 weeks. i'll let u know how it goes. its gonna be about $3500 for parts and labor total. Cam, valve springs, pushrods, lifters, msd, wires, plugs, headers, redone heads (I dont wana say cnc'd or ported cause then people will start saying stuff I dont understand, haha). Hoping for a little over 400RWHP which will def put you ahead of the game on the M3.

Anyone think after those mod's ill be able to stay up with the V2?
