CS 8.8 and K-Sport Coilovers Installed!!!
First of all I would like to thank the guys and gals at Creative Steel for being incredibly helpful and professional throughout the ordering process answering questions and keeping me posted on delivery dates, progress, status of everything etc… They even went as far as to send me pictures of the diff in its packaging just before it was picked up by UPS. Above and beyond expectations. Can't say enough about them, so again, thank you
Now to the fun. Some of you may or may not know about my car since I haven't been on here long. To make a long story short, it needed the rear end. SOMEHOW the factory diff (latest version), along with the driveshaft shop axle bars had managed to hold 800whp for a little while on drag radials (I never launched the car on them, but it did hold for a handful of 2nd-3rd gear pulls without issue. The plan is to drag race a few times a year as well as have a street car that can actually have usable power through a stout drivetrain. CS 8.8 fit the bill.
I opted for the 3.73 gears, and one piece carbon fiber DSS driveshaft.
Time to take out the old, it served well!
In with the new
3" stainless works exhaust was going to have major clearance issues… Immediate option was to weld, heat and flatten for clearance. I'll either run electric cutouts or have the exhaust re-routed in a better way at some point
Now it fits
Alignment time after having everything apart as well as installing the K-sports. Ride quality is beyond my expectations with these coil overs on a street car.
All finished up. Diff peaks out a little bit if you're really looking for it.
After going through CS's recommended break in for the set up, and then additional cruising, it was time to see what she has. Here were several of my attempts to launch the car, 1st and then in to 2nd gear. Poor Mickey Thompsons… They didn't stand a chance!
Over all I am incredibly pleased with everything. Between BSing some at the shop all in all the swap was very strait forward and took about 3.5-4 hours for us not including the alignment. Wheel hop is non-existent and it is an unreal feeling to drive this car hard with confidence that the drivetrain is STOUT. I've owned a V1 for 5 years now and yesterday was the first day I have ever driven this car the way it should have been designed to drive!!!

God damn... Of course the stainless works stuff doesn't clear. Why would it? Lol
By the way, is that a Whipple sticking out of the hood? I'm on my phone, can't really tell

I think plenty of guys have had no issues with a 2.5" Clearance MUST be tight though… I don't think the clearance issues with the Stainless Works were anything except a large diameter pipe fitting through an area that just can't accommodate it. Nothing they would have been able to do unless it was specifically built to clear this diff. Had it been 2.5", it would have been fine I'm sure

Great work.. I have a few of the same mods. 8.8 and SW full exhaust but didn't have to make any modifications for the SW exhaust to fit. pics are up in one of my threads.
Is this the car with the hole in the hood. I think i saw it on instagram.

Ah, i gotcha. I just wanted to clarify that the exhaust itself and the build quality of it is not the cause of the issue!!! any exhaust shop should be able to get it situated. My buddy can weld and we had access to make it happen on the spot. So thats what we did!

2.9l Whipple. It's a C6 kit, with a 3" pulley. Makes 10psi. Next step is figure out how to get this thing to make traction at the current power level, then make more boost, then try to make it hook up at that level!

Right on. I was looking at a liquid coolezd Kenne Bell kit last night. Yours is a C6 kit, do you have rectangular port heads on your car? The kit I was looking at was for a C5Z. I just figured get the whole blower unit and source hx and pumps separately.

Also, ZERO modifications of anything for those to fit. Mount em and go. i'm even lowered a decent amount now and they still have no problems at all. Ill post more pics when im on a computer again
