Default Another e-test question

Hi Guys,
I'm relatively new to the forums and i was wondering if you could help me out. I purchased my 99 WS6 mid last year and it had already had an etest done prior to purchase. The previous owner put an ORY on the car after he had the emissions done. i bought the car this way. I have to get e-tested this year. I'm assuming some sort of tune was done because i'm not throwing any codes and there doesn't appear to be downstream O2's even plugged in. It's got 80,000km on it. Only mods that i'm aware of are K&N drop in with stock lid baffles cut out, the ORY and an aftermarket muffler (not sure brand).
My questions are
Will the car pas emissions without cats? If so is a tune required?
If i have to get cats, can i just install them into the ORY
What cats should i get? I've seen magnaflow 59959's recommended a few times
Will I need to get a tune? If so where (I live in Waterloo)

Any help/advice you can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys

When exactly was the last etest done. Reason I'm asking is that the etest is good for 1 full year..so it could be possible that it may still be valid for your renewel.

The e-test was done 8 mths prior to me purchasing the car, so it's definitely expired.

You will need cats welded into the y pipe to pass. I run some fullsize 3" magnaflows and have had zero issues with emission on either car.

Thanks for the feedback.
So if I am going to spend the time cutting and welding in the cats, i suppose i could just do headers at the same time I guess. There's a nice OBX LT header package on e-bay that includes the headers, factory location O2 bungs, high flow cats and Y pipe. I'm curious to know whether the high flow cats that come with the setup would pass emissions though.

Thoughts?

The "cats" that come with the OBX kit are not really cats just resonators so you would still need cats to pass emissions. I run Pacesetter long tubes and their ORY with cats added in.

Good to know. So I would have to factor in adding cats then to the OBX setup
Where did you get your pacesetters and Y pipe? Locally?

My LT1 headers I got about 8 years ago from speed-eng.com and the LS1 set I got off the classifieds here the guy ordered the wrong year and didn't want to go through returning them. Check a bunch of sponsors prices but keep in mind that shipping will vary widely. Sometimes $20 more for the part saves you in the long run.

Hey Guys,
I've decided i'm going to buy some Magnaflow High Flow cats and weld them into my ORY
The ORY is 2.5" so i was going to go with Magnaflow Part# 59956
For the Ontario guys, do you know where the best/cheapest place would be to buy these? i'm debating on buying online as i can get them for $207.00 shipped to my door. Didn't know if anyone knew of anywhere else to check?

Thanks in advance.
