TMP helmet rule?

Default TMP helmet rule?
Hey guys, for those guys who are running low 13s, are they pretty strict with the helmet rule at Cayuga dragway? Rule is 13.9 and less and my car would be pretty close to that time

Rule is 13.99 and everytime I have been there they are very strict about following that rule and will boot you from the track until you get one.

If they know your car will run a 13, tech might not even let you pass inspection

Same with having a driveshaft safety loop if running drag radials

I actually found one on kijiji that someone had that was brand new in the box / plastic still- they wanted like $80 for it so I scooped it.

I would think any performance shop should be able to get them- or motorcycle shop?

It needs to be Snell approved though

Motorcycle helmets are not good for drag racing,they don't have fireproof liners.

Performance Improvements just had a sale or has one going on.

They had some nice brain buckets for $199-299.

Some of them are snell rated which is fine. Track requires you be snell approved, not DOT (which is what a lot of motorcycle helmets are) but you can get them.

Must be Snell SA rated(auto) not M(motorcycle),likely requires a newer date as well.

BTW the DS Loop rule only applies to slicks or cars quicker than 11.49.

Drag radials as well. I received a warning when I had my mickey Thompson ET streets which were a DOT tire. Next time I came back, the guy remembered me and asked about it and checked for it.

Then I got dinged and got a warning about having metal tire valves being installed on the drag radials- got a warning and was told I needed metal valves the next time I came out...sure enough, next time I went out, first thing the guy asked me.

I give the guy credit- he has a helluva memory because I went more than a month apart each time...

I found a motorcycle helmet Snell 2010 at Princess auto for 90 taxes in. Online sale only for the weekend. I'm going to it a shot see what happens.
