Importing Advice I am looking at getting my first LS1. Maybe a 98-00 WS6.
Just looking for any advice or tips on importing the car into Canada.
I live 5 miles from the border in Manitoba, so that might come in handy.

thats awsome congrats i just imported my first lt1 from cincinatti, Ohio into winnipeg about 3 weeks ago. pretty easy just make sure u have all your papers in order at the border like title, bill of sale, get print out of the add where u seen the car listed they want that too. Cause they wanna see the sale price don't lie to them about that. Get your temporary insurance before hand. For that u need a copy of the title faxed to u and a bill of sale signed or not. Make sure you have a passport if you are going to fly and a birth certificate if you are driving. Fax the copy of the title to the us customs minimum 72 hours before the car arrives their for importing <-----VERY IMPORTANT!!! Then show your title to us customs when u get to the border. make sure u go their first cause you have to export it first. I think that is about it if you have any questions at all just send me a pm. Good Luck! Oh and call the gm place and find out about any recalls that need to be done and buy a recall clearance letter from them.

I bought the car...just waiting on getting it shipped. There is one outstanding recall that my local dealer is going to fix..but apparently the recall report they print is not good enough. It has to come from a US dealer. Wierd.
I cannot wait to get the car here!!!!
BTW it has some mods, and the seller says it probably needs a tune. Is there a place in Winnipeg where i can get that done?
