whats up with this??? I am also glad im not in the city. Dont get me wrong, I dont agree with idiots in Hondas and other commuter/family type cars doing 160km/h weaving through traffic. But thats dangerous driving, wreckless driving, whatever.... So what happens now? The bitchy old lady down the street calls the cops and says you're a street racer with your loud car? Do they come and tow it away and crush it because its got a catback on it? Good god, this is out of hand... Im just finishing up my 69 Camaro, and its going to have a nice sound, low stance, and its hugger orange. Now im scared to bring it out. Almost sounds like they're going to search for a few cars to make as examples.

guys - before anyone loses any sleep here - it's all in articulation..
join a car club - then mod away freely. You are building your car for car show purposes.
I personally think street racing is pretty much the stupidest thing you can do in your car - do I like to drive fast? Yes. Safely and not affecting other traffic.
I guess they should be destroying all sports cars now too - they were built to race right from the factory.
Just FYI - This is a hot topic now - I don't think this legislation will have teeth for very long. It's breaking charter rights and won't hold up.

I think that IF you are caught street racing then seizing your vehicle is fine - crushing it? I don't know about that. That seems a little harsh.
Why don't we start crushing peoples vehicles that are convicted of careless driving?
There will be legislation announced - and it will become law - but our legal system is ALWAYS in favour of the accused - I would be shocked to see ANY cars ( besides the few that will be made examples ) get crushed.

These guys aren't even street racing...Two old guys road rage in minivans, is that street racing??? All these crashes latetly are high speed driving... Wheres the finish line if its a race?

I don't mean to sound harsh, but for far too many years those of us outside of the GTA have been trying to elect governments that don't deal in "pie in the sky" and cower to special interests groups. As for the comments made in the news articles, I suspect if such a case ever made it to court the judge would laugh at the government and tell them that they are a bunch of f*****g idiots. But we alresdy know that.
