Thumbs down For Anyone Planning to Buy an 08 GM Vehicle in the U.S

GM just fucked anyone looking to import an 08 vehicle into canada
http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/impor...S___SATURN.htm
They put every 08 model vehicle on the RIV inadmissable list.
Way to protect that Canadian Premium GM.

I'm sure other automakers will follow suit pretty soon. Canada is their gravy train!

you can have them... but you have to buy them here. They cost usually 15-35k more in canada than the US, and our dollar is higher than the US dollar right now.

What a load.

Better get over there and buy some clothes before they ban those, too.

I bleed bow ties but even still.... I'd buy an import right now before I'd allow my *** to get reamed like this. Wal Mart is lowering prices accordingly. Even Volvo is playing ball.

If any of y'all at GM are paying any attention you better watch it cuz we are. Cork smokers

You can still bring over 2007's and there are a few left on dealer lots. HUGE savings on 'vettes! $65k US for a new 2007 Z06 or you could buy one here for $98k CDN lol!

People - the best thing you can do is TALK about this!
Let everyone you know about it.
We need this issue heard on a higher level.

If you are sick of being robbed - contact your local MP.

Stop buying new cars. Plain and simple.

GM won't listen to these threads - they will listen to the sound of MONEY - and the lack of it coming from Canada.

GM just took a 39 billion dollar hit this quarter.... YIKES!! That had to hurt. As a quick thought you have to wonder why they dont just have a BLOW OUT and sell off everything they have for hugely discounted prices? Or perhaps offer young first time buyers 10K off or something? At least then you will build up the loyalty that once had them on top of the world and now see even us the die hards of die hards getting sick of their blind greed.

put it this way :

I WOULD buy a Pontiac G6 GXP for 25 000 ( further discounted by GM by 2500 until November 19th )

I will NOT buy one for 40 000 ( with tax 45 000 )

I simply refuse to be robbed. GM is quite simply screwing Canadians.
I have a great job - however, what I *feel* is affordable is 25k for a great looking, sporty car.

for 45k I'll go out and buy a frikken BMW folks. Used if I had to.
I mean come on GM. REALLY!

ummm that's a government website... it looks like it's not GM setting that up, but our own government doing little things to try to protect retailers here...

what a load of ****.

It's not just cars, but other vechicle manufacturers too. Looking at a new Ski-doo MXZ snowmobile: $US10,399 , or Can$13,299 - that's ~30% difference in price and the damn things are MADE IN CANADA!!!
