F.A.S.T. EFI TB??? 600max HP?
I have been kicking around the idea of goin over to the FAST EFI 1450 TB system but according to the ad its for engines upto @600hp, i'm doing 420rwhp and using a 30% drivtrain loss I should have about a 600hp @ the crank right? I have a TH350 so I was told the drivetrain loss is about 30% plus here in a few I will be spraying about a 200 shot. Whatta u guys think?

N2O converters are usually tight, but if you are running anything cammed with 5.7 or more cubes, i would assume 420 to the ground would be about 500ish to the flywheel. No way to be sure without a actual engine dyno, or run the car at the track and measure the MPH and weight on a HP calculator to get a "estimation".

I was just goin by what this sponsor on this thread mentioned to me about drivetrain loss using these old style non lock tranny's. 30% is what I have heard from a couple of shops I have talked to after my 1st intial dyno was givin as a average number drivetrain loss for a high stall Th350/Th400 compared to more modern transmissions and manuals. Wish i would have kept the PM from straightline cause I think he mention that figure too as an average loss but its been a long time as u can see from that post date

Someone mentioned that as long as you run WOT at 12:1 you will be fine but it is my understanding (I could definitely be wrong here) is that the system allows for some tweaks, but WOT and idle A/F are preset and unmodifiable from FAST.
This system is a fantastic system that I am using on my 6.0 LS '69 442 build, but it will be NA only. If you want to still use the carb style intake, go to something more appropriate for your build like a FAST XFI, etc...

A/F ratio is preset from the manufacturer, but is fully adjustable for both idle and WOT (I have the system instructions right in front of me) and it is recommended that you adjust them for optimal performance. You can also reset them on the fly, like when you are cruising on a long highway run and want to improve fuel mileage.
I'm about to install the EZ-EFI on my 355 SBC and for the money I think the system is one of the better carb replacement systems around.
The iron block 408 is my next project.

I too was considering this. The guys at fast have customers running them on 700+hp motors. The injectors are 88lb/hr and guys are running them @ 70psi to get them to support this much. 70psi is a bunch but I have seen guys run more. The TB flows 1000cfm so it should support it. In order to get it to support any more than 600hp you will have to buy the kit w/o the pump and regulator. An A1000 should do the job easily. Good luck with your decision, sounds cool. Imo Their multiport setup is a much better buy. 800 or so $ and can support 1000 hp is what is claimed. Im going to run this setup with a msd 6010 on my baby cammed 5.3, this way no matter the mods i will most likely never out gro the system.
