The 6.0 was an LQ4 with dished pistons and an additional notch for the intake.
maybe 9.8/1.

The heads were flat milled .030, stock GM L92 gaskets, .051 thick if I recall.

I've been doing some research and I finally got my cam picked out, just need to order it.
should have a broad power curve and flat line around 6700.

Ordered my cam 23x/24x .6xx/.6xx 110, PRC dual spings, hd adj timing chain, rod bolts, and some .051 cometic head gaskets since I got a good deal on them.

How many of you are turning the stock ballancer up to 7k rpm?
I'm going to order an SFI flexplate though to be on the safe side.

I did it a few times by accident and I've known a few guys who rev theirs out to 7k+ on the stock balancer. No problems yet.

Mine on all stock long block and balancer sees 7200 every day at least twice, as in 2 pulls through 3-4 gears, LOL. for over a year now.

DMMizell,
Can you PM me or post more information about the cam you used with that setup?
I am putting together the same type combo, LQ4 with dish pistons, L92 heads flat milled 30 and new springs to handle 660 lift.

DMMIZLEs cam is a from Rapid Motorsports. Its called the Dominator 2x cam. It does require the piston to be flycut for the large intake valve of the L92 heads. Mike at Rapid is a good guy to work with, but a little hard to get a hold of on the phone. I also have this cam, but have yet to install it. Hope this helps. Eric L

Glad to know the stock balancer is working out for y'all. Also just curious, what about the flexplate handling those rpms?

I would personally recomend an SFI balancer and flywheel for that many RPM. Just because some will last dosent mean that yours in particular will. And the results could be really, REALLY bad. Just my .02. Eric L

Flex plate SFI, yes, balancer? I have not seen any fail except maybe slip with a supercharger. But, if you have the cash, why not? I dont so i run stockers.

Im running a Hays flywheel, but i have friends running stock flexplates with no issues, others have had them crack, but i think it was due to shitty company install.

Frist yes you should be fine on ur CPR and be able to run pump gas. I have pushed the evenlope for a while on pump gas. I know for a fact u can go even over 11.5.1. Second nice cam. With that gasket and mill you shld have good vtp clearance. Do however, recomend a sfi flew plate. Stock is pretty weak. Blancer? Unless your running turbo, pro or super charger, root style blower a stock one will be fine. Stock balancers are very well designed on the ls serious engines. Good luck
