Default 2001 6.0 streched timing chain!!!

i have a 6.0 in my truck but when i was installing the cam i noticed that the chain fitted a little bit stretched or loose, i replaced with new chain and sprockets but it was the same, the question is that would it really take a lot of power because of this? does the ls2 timming chaain and sprocket will fit my engine so i can advance the timing? any help would be very appreciated. thanks!!!

Mine was like that too at 30k miles. I put a brand new one on it and it still looked loose. I have been running it like that for 3k miles now. If you search around here enough you will find that it is a common problem. I think the only fix is to get aftermarket gears and chain. Or a tensioner.

My brand new LS2 timing chain was just as sloppy as my factory 55k mile chain.

My LQ4 was loose as hell, the LS2 chain i installed was way better but still had some slack, the old LQ4 chain probably had over 100K on it, the cams in these weigh more than the old SBCs, so i think they wear the chains a bit faster.
