EDIT I just noticed E85, I've never messed with that stuff, so I erased my post, as it was for gas

very small cam for that much compression IMO. Anyways, it would probably like 32-38 across the board from idle to rev limiter.

Try 14 degrees timing from 0-500 rpm for cranking, then just lock it out.

The duration is what is small, for that cubes it is small actually. But he says "lock it out" like running it flat across the board on the tuning software. Set the timing for 14 initial at zero degrees, then ramp to 36-38 all in by 2000 and run it flat out same timing across the timing board.

I don't run anywhere near that much timing and mine is 13:1 compression.

Yes, I am running E85. I made over 700hp NA with 30-32 degrees of timing. Links are in my signature.

I'm not saying 36-38 won't work, just that the original poster should consider starting lower and bumping the timing as the sparkplugs allow (read them!).

you need to change the settings on the wideband for E85 last I checked on the innovate and the AEM ones. Not sure what model you're running, also it's always smart to start low and bump it 2 degrees at a time reading plugs, thus my comment earlier that it might like 32-38 total. I started at 28 and kept adding until I hit 35, that's what the motor wanted going by the ground strap.

wouldnt it be smart to pull timing out at the upper rpms to extend the powerband?

you're tuning for max mph at the big end, wherever that might be

thats why i thought pulling alittle out at upper rpm might be a good idea. with traditional sbc engines. advancing the timing usually gives better 60 ft times and retarding the timing more mph. with an advanced timing system like the msd 6010 or 6012 you should be able to do both . ramped up at lower rpm with a gradual retard as rpm climbs. am i the retarded one or does that make sense?

only time i see a few degrees pulled is a couple hundred rpm around the true stall speed, since that's when the motor is under the most load
