I have used the aem 40-3100 on 2 different snowmobiles (tolerated the two stroke oil!) and now had tuned one truck and put that same one on my carbed car to work out some carb bugs. I may leave it on the car and get another one for this next truck I am working on. It has serial output capability for trouble free logging in EFILIVE. I am very impresed.
I bought an innovate tps kit for carbs, it was 70 bucks and consisted of a 16 dollar tps, a small bracket three screws a tab for the throttle shaft that was not "keyed" and a pigtail for the tps. It didnt match the voltage range of my pcm whatsoever and it looked like about 40 worth of parts at best. Bracket was very flexible, tab had nothing connecting it to the shaft but a friction fit and a screw, Not impressed.

yes you can log with the aem and another device that accepts 0-5v input.
as far as accuracy...I do plan to have my truck dyno'd one day, and will find out then how my gauges compare with what the dyno a/f readout shows.
I know another 6.0L swapper that has a single UEGO with the sensor in a h-pipe. When he 1st put the LSx in he ran with a Holley vacuum 670cfm for a while, and gauge readings were all over the map at different rpm's/load. He then decided to install a FAST easy efi... and in no time his gauge was showing solid consistent readings with much smaller swings under various rpms/load. The UEGO's are not the quickest setup out there but seem to do the job of letting the driver know more about how his motors breathing...and IMHO a better tool for tuning... then w/o one (or 2).
I think FAST even has a system now that allows you to monitor up to eight 02 sensors...for every cylinder on a V8. But... its still requires several components integrated so there would still be those channel to channel variances.

Well I ended up going for the Innovate #3844. Should come this week. Plan to run just one side. That will be alot better than not having one at all to tune with. But if you can do two thats good also. I have a GMPP single plain and a HP 750. Hope to get the A/F cleaned up as it has been way to rich. May hit up a few folks on here that have some seat time with this thing.

For wide open throttle most people quote 12.5:1. But, when it comes to tuning for maximum performance, my carb guru says don't make a theoretical AFR the holy grail. He said use that to ball park, then final tune at the race track or on a dyno for maximum power. I have been told that some vehicles might make max power at 11.8:1 while other might favor 13:1.

Well I have it in and took a little cruise around the hood. @ 40 MPH I'm at 10.4 with a 76 Prim. jet I'm thinking to drop to a 72-73 to clean up the sooty exhaust pipes for starters. Plan to go to the track Fri night to check out the rest and see what it does. Does a drop in 2 #'s sound good to start? Thanks

Iirc. I have 74/76 in my fronts and cruise afr is 12.9-14.3

I did use a vac gauge to set the idle, I may be able to lean it out some but not sure I can get away without the jet change. The plugs and the exhaust are really sootey. Thanks for sharing the info. I think I'll try a 74 jet and readjust the idles one more time. I think I am 1.5 turns out on all 4 corners with pretty good idle. It also leaves black rings on the concrete from the turn downs like was mentioned in an earlyer post

Is it ok to Idle @ 13.0- 13.5 ? I set the idle to around 12.0-12.5 I also lowered two jet sizes on the primary and went from 10.0 @ 40 MPH to 12.6 @ 40 MPH. Run a whole lot better. Took one plug out and it looks pretty good for starters. Need to run it a few miles then see how it does. PS A/F sure changes quick with small adjustments to the idle mixture screws. Glad I have this device!!
