Default Going to the Drag Strip - video & time slips added.

I am going to the 1/8 mile drag strip Wednesday night. The last piece of the puzzle was drag radials and they are on the car and workin'. So, I finally get to see what the actual numbers are.

My original goal when I formulated my build for the car was to eclipse 110 in the quarter mile. This was just so I could be faster than the new Mustangs and Camaros. I am pretty certain I have surpassed that goal.

Hopefully it will hook and we can go all out.

I would wish you luck.............................................. .. but don't think you'll need it

I will guess...... 7.5 @ 92 (11.8ish) if you can hook. I know Friday nite TNT's (Wednesday are about the same I've heard) here aren't prep'd and with all the ricers dragging water up to the line.

I think Dougs guess is pretty close, I will say maybe a bit quicker through the 1/8th(with traction), maybe 7.3's @ about 90-92mph
try leave off idle....
Have FUN!

I run 7.2's - 7.3's my 60 fts are in the 1.6 - 1.7 range, and my mph is 94 - 95 in the 1/8 th
My car spins HARD for the first 10 - 15 ft, but really pulls through the top end to 119-120mph in the 1/4.
I really need to do some suspension work, stick cars are unforgiving

You car really flies. I have very little camshaft and a small converter. I will be thrilled with 7.70s or faster. I am really looking forward to it. I used to eat sleep and breath the drag strip 20+ years ago. It is great that I can still get this excited about it.

You and 3 Pedals are flying for sure. I would bet you are probably 3200 to 3300 pounds or so? Mine is 3500 with the spare tire and a full tank of gas. Add me and we are at 3675.

Made 5 passes. 1st pass hot off the street with 20lbs in the tires was 7.59@92. After some rain, it cooled down and with 15lbs in the tires it went 7.46 @92. By the end of the night it was dead hooking with high 1.6 60' times. The car really drew a crowd. I will start a new thread with video and some time slips tomorrow.

The D/A was 1574.

Ha my visit before the last we went to sunshine. I will be moving to the new port richey/holiday area by mid next year. I have two best friends there right now. One with a cam only trans am and one with a low mileage c5z and an 04 gto. He moved last year but he did live about fifteen mins from sunshine.
I was just down for 4th July.
