seadoo, im running the vic jr w the fast ez efi. like u i wanted the old school look with efi drivability. shake down runs from driveway to driveway seem very positive. im set up to paint my car next tuesday(best weather). im really looking forward to seeing how it all works out. ive got a tread on this forum of my flog. unlike a lot of carb set-ups with the LS3 heads matting the floor gives instantaneous wide open throttle. no bog or hesitation. i highly recommend the efi w the carb style intake.

[QUOTE=fuel;15291592]Ah, very cool. I like the clean retro look they give the engine. I am considering making the drive down to Bradenton Motorsports Sunday morning. From what I understand we are allowed run as fast as 11.50 there without a roll bar and such.

I am having trouble getting motivated to go tomorrow morning. It was stupid hot today and this time of year in Florida it can rain at any minute. It just started storming now. That is no big deal going 20 miles to the 1/8 local track. However, it is about 75 miles to Bradenton Motorsports.

This is what I found :o............
11.49 1/4-mile (7.35 1/8-mile) or quicker:
-A 5-point minimum roll bar on a fixed roof car (t-tops okay as well if in place while racing) from 11.49 to 11.00 (7.00 1/8-mile). If the hardtop / t-top car has un-altered floors, firewall and frame rails (wheel tubs are okay), then the 5-point roll bar is good til 10.00 1/4 mile (6.40 1/8-mile). Convertibles require the 5-point bar from 13.49 (8.25 1/8-mile to 11.00 (7.00 1/8-mile).
The rollbar must be constructed of a minimum o.d. mild steel or chrome moly tubing (moly can be a smaller o.d and is lighter but more expensive), see diagram below for specs.
The roll bar can be bolted or welded to the floor, see diagram below for specs.
Roll bar must be padded anywhere the driver's helmet may contact it while in the driving position, see diagram below for specs.
The 5-points are:
Main hoop; 2 "down bars" (bars that go from the main hoop rearward to the trunk floor/hatch area. These can be straight or bent like a "package tray" style, search for photos); Welded crossbar for belts (can't be removable), see rulebook for exact location. Driver side door bar (can be a swing-out. Many put a passenger's side bar in as well (6-point) because it strengthens the car on both sides, but if you have subframe connectors the difference may be minimal).
-Protective Clothing (SFI jacket with a 3.2A/1 rating, no expiration date)
-5 point harness (up to date, they must be replaced or re-certified every 2 years; You can re-cert by shipping the belts to the manufacturer, or buy new ones. I usually buy new ones and sell the old ones on EBay (street racers and dune buggies buy 'em).
-SFI-approved flywheel and/or clutch (no expiration date)
-Screw-in valve stems
-No tint allowed on window except factory

I checked the weather this a.m. and only 10% chance of rain. So, I went down to BMP and ran the 1/4 mile. It was hot. Like cat on a hot tin roof hot. I got two solid passes in before the track turned to grease. It ran within a few hundredths of what it did Wednesday night at Sunshine Dragstrip in the 1/8 but it did not mile an hour as well as I expected. But, in talking to other guys and watching passes, everyone was down big time in MPH. There was a varying headwind in the a.m. and of course the heat. It went 11.76 and 11.78 both in the 113s.
I played with the timing and found that it slowed down at 28 degrees and started to rattle at 34 degrees. Everything in between those tow numbers ran roughly the same, so I split the difference and set it at 31 degrees. It got too hot to play with the jets today. So maybe in the fall.
I know that these cars can run, so nobody spaz out and run to their defence, but here is a few examples that I saw today:
LS7 Corvette. Best pass 12.5 @ 119
Cadillac CTS V Best pass 12.99 @ 110
LS3 Corvette Best Pass 12.80 @ 112
Not exactly the kind of numbers you see for these cars on the internet eh?
I personally laid the wood to a new 2011 5.0 GT and a couple Gen 3 Camaros. One Camaro had a cage and what not. I did not have to see any tail lights for my 5 runs.

I got two clean passes before the track got greasy. (one racer measured it at 135 degrees!)
Here are those two timeslips:

Looks like it's in the sweet spot right now and very consistant too ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Jets could get you a tenth or two....but better air could get you .2-.5 depending on the DA and temp .

7.44
7.46
7.47
7.48
7.50
All of these at 92 MPH.
And that is with playing with the timing and some jets on Wednesday night. I think it might be a great 7.50 index car.

Oops. I wonder when they changed that. I could have sworn that is what it was. Shows how long ive been out of it, lol. I just looked it up and you are right, im wrong. Unfortunately, pertaining to my car, its still 9.99 for the big dollar stuff, while its 9.49 for IHRA. I hope my new set up runs low 10s, lol. Eric L
