Default Wow

2 tenths in the low 7's is very impressive. Must have helped in the 60'.
What about mph?

Some initial results are in and they are pretty underwhelming! LOL

The two hole space made no difference at all. (Other than solving my heat soak problem)

The open spacer lost 2 hundredths in the 60' and lost about 1.5-2 hundredths in the ET but picked up .25 MPH.

While there was not much difference in performance, the open spacer required richening of the idle and opening the butterflies further to get the car to idle. So, it seems as if the open spacer created a weaker signal to the carburetor. However, it did not require a jet change.

There must be a reason Edelbrock did not mill the divider on the LS Performer RPM as they did most of the other Performer RPM manifolds. My test says they made the right decision.

I still have not tested the 4 hole yet, but after this test, I suspect it will pick up on the 60'. We shall see next opportunity I have to test.

I tried the 1" open, 1" 4 hole, and 2" open.....no real gains... I think the weather had more effect than anything.... at least on my car.

Every motor is different though....

I know they make some gaskets that are suppose to be better for heat soak than standard gaskets. Have you tried any of them??? I am planning on running one. Spacers seem to get mixed reviews (for performance anyway).

I have followed Zone's lead and created "Mini-Sucker". I don't know how effective a 1/2" version will be, but here it is:

Impressive! What type of nifty skills or tools did you need to get it that nice.

I used a custom large diameter 1" carbide bit in a die grinder and a sand paper flapper wheel. It is pretty because I have many years cylinder head porting and machine work experience. But, I would think anyone with an eye for detail and good hands could make one easy enough.

Sorry to dredge up this ancient post, but I have been trying to find a tapered carb spacer like this one to maintain hood clearance. Do you have a seller's name or part number for it? Thanks.

The poster you quote hasn't been here in 2 years... but I'm sure you suspected that might happen...
