Default Painless Wiring fan controller dies for a 2nd time.

Well, the painless wiring mack daddy, top of the line fan controller has failed for the 2nd time. They claimed they redesigned it to stop it from happening again and this time it lasted less than a month. So, whatever revision they made appears to be a step backwards. So, I put in a relay that comes on with the key until they either figure it out or surrender.

Everything painless makes is behind the times and way overpriced.

Go with a spal controler I have used 2 of them and they have worked perfect. 1 has 4000miles on it in the last 3 months.

Get this one made by Flex-a-lite and you won't have anymore problems. I have had one on my 84 for 4 years.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have the Flex-a-lite 33054. It's a very similar unit (both in price and features) to what LS1MCSS posted above. I have it running my LS1 F-body fans with no issues. I've been real happy with its performance and features so far. Here's a not so great picture of the controller mounted next to the radiator on my inner fender.

What I like about them is the way they are built, you don't need a relay. They are heavy duty enough to carry the load.
