Edebrock / MSD box?
Ok so I'm reading that nobody likes the Edelbroke controller and I should get a MSD 6010 (2005 5.3L). The only kit that I find for sale is the one with the Edelbroke box. So I need to buy this stuff separate, correcto? It seems to me I can buy them separate for less anyhow, but I guess I haven't priced out the 700r4 kickdown bracket etc. yet
Anything else I should add to the list for this setup? (besides a 670 street avenger)

The intake new comes with a throttle bracket that allows use of the throttle and the kick down for nearly any automatic.
The 2005 should be a 24X reluctor, need to look at the color of the crank sensor to make sure. Black is correct, gray is for the newer 6012.
And yes, it is usually cheaper to buy separate and the MSD unit is fully tunable and has a lot more features.
Otherwise, it seems you have everything else lined out pretty well.

OK cool. The description of the 71187 is actually the same description as the manifold kit, and I didn't know if the manifold by itself comes with the throttle bracket
