Well within 5 minutes it would fowl plugs and stop running had to drop oil do to fuel mixing in it. Got the laptop sorted out and still fouled plugs and exhaust was eye burning. Double checked my grounds and added another one. Holy **** the idle smoothed out and exhaust smelt better. Just to figure out how to use the map graph now

Picked the truck up as a roller(500), the drivetrain was in my Mazda b2200 before this but it was a poor chassis. I scored the intake and msd and oil pan off a buddy who was going turbo(600). He found me the cam spring pushrods off one of his buddy's(650) Motor came from a wrecker 200,000kms was a good deal. The mount kit and headers from brp were from a guy who wasn't able to use them for his project scored them for 650. Also got a meziere water pump second hand I decided not to use. Tranny was $20 another 240 after rebuild. Tci flex plate was used cause it was on hand late at night. stall regulator and fuel pump was all from jegs. Rad came from eBay $140. Bought all my an fitting locally but the line came from eBay. So far it's cost me around 5000 with getting mostly deals. With no deals I wouldn't wanna know. The an lines and fittings cost me alot more then I was expecting.

Block it down? Or can you shackle it down? I am not a s10 guru.

Doesn't that cause axle wrap and wheel hop?

Found out you can get drop leafs. So those are on order. Got tires on order as well. Anybody point me in direction of building a 5.3? Seems everybody is doing 6L.

If you had the cash to do a 383 stroker, it would be solid. But I am a budget guy, so I run what I can get my paws on for cheap.

It's got drag shocks all the around now and moroso springs up front, with 2" drop spindles. Mostly drag racing I would say. But with the split mono's do you just adjust ride height with the overlap? Would like to get a motor to handle more nitrous down the road. I have a spare 5.3 that needs a rebuild, but once again I'm fairly new to the lsx's world.

you can get split monos from calvert that are reg ride height or drop.the spring is designed for drag racing..if u want to use your stock springs..then you could always pull a leaf..a pulled leaf on my 95 s10 got me 1.5" of drop..its a mini truck deal though..

the reg split monos might drop the truck down some also alone..best bet would be to call calvert an talk to them..

if u want to find some good info you can go to google an type in this site:yellowbullet.com s10..then look threw all the s10 posts..theres a number of them in the stock suspension section on the bullet..you can then see different setups and such..or try s10racer.com

im sure you have heard of bobby flippin if your a s10 drag guy..heres a pic of his suspension..pics old..but he was going high teens an 1.20 60ft when it was taken..hes been 1.14 now..but it looks like he has 1" drop blocks in the pic..his rear setup at the time was caltraks, split monos and qa1 dbl adj shock..hes on 275s in the pic

heres another pic of a quick s10..cant remember the guys name though but you can see hes running drop blocks also..i know the truck 60s in the 1.20 range also forsure..pic is of the truck on 28s

If you are scared of blocks You can make a set out of 2x2 Tbg . Some alum. Blocks will fold up on you under a load. I found out the hard way on national TV Pinks All Out Belle Rose La. No Problem . I left on both kits in my Blue Blazer and Folded the pads and blocks as well as Broke the pinion yoke. I replaced them with 2x2 tbg and never had issues after that.
