Maybe the sdpc truck cam???

http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...er/cc54-st1-11

I put it in my 5.3, motor only ran on the stand though. Idles good, not sure on power gains. I used the blue springs from lingenfelter

http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=C159

70 bucks for the set

I think I might go with the hot cam. I think it would make more power then the zo6 cam. The. Down the road I will put in a 2200 to 2400 converter. Now I just have to find a used hot cam lol. Let me know if anyone has one thanks

Just keep a look out, a 3000 converter would be best just because you will wish you did later, lol.

Not likely but you always measure anyway just to be safe. And 3000? I don't consider that high, putting a 4800 in my TA, lol.

I have a chance to get a brand new xr269hr comp cam for 150 is that a good choice? I know it's alittle small but for that price I think it's worth it.

Adjusting your combo around a bit to fit your budget isn't a bad thing.

Do you have to change the valve springs with that cam? My heads are stock 317s.

Pretty much always have to swap springs. Prevents valve float when abusing the engine and allows for the higher lift.

Most guys say not to use the yellows with aftermarket cams. Even the small ones. They say the lobe ramps are too aggressive for the yellows. But, I am just repeating what I have read.

I have that sdpc cam in my lq4. I am not sure of the power gain but the motor is in a 4x4 burb and it pulls pretty good. It has great low end. I have my rev limiter set at 5000 and it is still pulling strong at 5. Nice idle too. I have had it set at 700 with the carb and it ran good.
