Brian, this past Friday was the last Friday night session for the year at paradise. They're going back to Sunday racing starting this Sunday. Gates 11AM, time trials about 12:30

I may go to Steele this Sunday to do some 1/4 testing. Gotta see if I want to take it Bowing Green for LS Fest next month.

Their prep is hit or miss. I really dont care for brainerd. I like steele the best. But it is hard for me to go on sundays to steele. My gt has a forged 370, polluter cam, tfs as cast 220 heads, qft 850 carb. Powerglide, 9" with 3.70 gear. I need more gear. I ran a 7.00 last month at brainerd. It was 110 degrees that day. Way to hot to race. I still need to do alot of tuning on it.

Yeah, I'd say u need more gear with the glide, unless you are planning on spraying it mostly. What does your car weigh.

Around 3050 with me in it. I am going to spray it but I want to get the best motor times out of it first. My car has a bad habit of going to the bumper so I am going to get a progressive for it also before I spray it.

I read on their forum that "Bird" was suggesting that last week ... are Sunday's official now?

I wanted to get some "local" shake down runs in so I can closer dial-in in my shocks before making the drive to Steele ... I may have to go full loose on the extension and full hard on the compression and start there!

It will probably be September before I can get out to Steele for their Friday TnT's. November is MCE's track day at Silver Dollar which I will try to make as well. We had a good time at their Spring track day.

Yes, They announced last Friday they would see everyone next Sunday.

I remember your car now. I was in my Buick Grand National the day I saw you there. We talked about the bad *** wheels on your car lol.

I just saw their forum post this morning ... "After this week (Aug 17th) we're switching back to Sunday racing. AND if we get rained out again tonight we will run this Sunday also."

Hmmm ... honestly I don't remember. Which track was it at and when? There is another Pewter SS that is very similar to mine that runs at Paradise, but then again, at my age my memory is not what it used to be either ... lol.

Might not have been you lol. It was at Paradise either on a Sunday or a show and go. My buddy owns the pewter SS with Bogarts that runs 6.80's. The car I saw had black weld RT's on it.

If it was March 4th's TnT at Paradise, yea that was me ... I was struggling with stock DeCarbon's front and rear and no 2-Step or line lock.

Actually, the "other car" that looks similar to mine that I was speaking of was probably your buddy's ... a 2000 with Bogart's, 6.80's and pulls the front tires rather impressively. I met him at Brainerd's opening night's TnT May 25th, but he did not have his car there ... here's one of my runs that night.

Made it to 1/4 mile track yesterday. Car went 1.51 60ft, 6.85 @ 101.75 and 10.71 @ 127.35. DA was 2762 and 92 degrees. Still got it at 32 degrees timing. Looks a tad fat and could use a little more timing.

Very stoked, the car is a beast on the back half of the track.

Very, very nice .... good running car and good numbers! I wish I was that deep into the 6's/10's, but I am struggling just to get into the 6's/10's.

Out of curiosity, where did you run the 1/4?

... yea, you mentioned you were heading out there. How was it?

We couldn't end up making it to Paradise yesterday, but hopefully, we will in the next few weeks and then we will plan a trip out to Steele. Since my wife is on-call every other weekend, we have limited weekends to play.

Nice runs. I have a similar setup in my camaro and my best time is within .01 of yours. Where are you shifting your combo?

I just meant there were quite a few heavy hitters testing. We had a great time. My buddy has a 99' vette, bolt on car. Car ran 12.80's on motor and 11.98 on a 125 shot a few weeks ago. It had a MTI tune. His PCM went bad, so I talked him into taking the car to Vengeance for a tune. He told them he sprayed mostly so they tuned accordingly. He wasn't happy at first as it only ran13.0's on motor. But it went a 11.57 @ 121 on the 125 shot.

Hit me up if you go there or Paradise, maybe I can make it.

Sounds good. Right now, next weekend depends on Isaac ... if the weather dampens a motorcycle rally in Tennessee for us, we are going to try to get a few runs in at Paradise this Sunday if it doesn't rain here. The following week is up in there air ... it depends on the wife's call schedule.

I will keep you informed.

Maybe we should consider some kind of track thread in the Southern forum that we can subscribe to. Such as a thread for each of the "local" tracks, i.e. Paradise, Brainerd, Steele, etc. That way we can see who is going when. Just a thought!
