Not much goin on with the build right now. Broke 2 vertebrae in my lower back(t12 and l1). A press door fell on me at work, have to wear a turtle shell brace, kinda sucks.

Intrepid fans for the superior radiator. Gotta trim them some

Got everything ready for the motor to go back in, worked on the trans some, fixin leaks and small stuff, before I got hurt

Just a pic of the motor, intake is just setting on there, headers off.

Good friend! And sorry about the back. I feel your pain, literally. My L5 in my lower back is leaking like a screen door. Surgery is the only fix and I don't have insurance right now, so popping pills and taking it EZ is about the only relief. I hope yours heals cleanly so you don't have long term issues.
Super clean build, by the way!

Thanks, guess he feels sorry for me, lol.

MRI showed 4 fractures instead of two. Its t11-t12, and L1-L2. Sad it takes a month to find this out, I guess it because I'm a hefty fellow and the x-rays didn't show it good. Hope yours feels better soon, mine is workmans comp, so they can do whatever, the brace was 3000 bucks, lol. I"m not feeling too good about it, spine moved 8 degrees out in two weeks, that's why I'm a turtle now. Its slowly collapsing

Damn dude, sorry to hear about your back. How'd it happen?
My brother just had I believe 4 or 6 of his lower vertebrae fused after a pretty severe car/bicycle (he was on the bicycle) accident. Two of his lower lumbar verts were shattered never mind the rest of his fractures.

I'm glad your ok

Back to your build. AWESOME work, everything looks great. That motor looks amazing.
I love 2dr 2wd 1st gen blazers. Keep it up man, even when you're out of commission.

I work in a stamping factory, the press I run is fairly big,(the door is over 1200lbs) the seals on the doors that protect us from the dies lost pressure and fell on me. I was doin a changeover. Turns out it was 4 bad seals in the cylinders, about 30 bucks in parts and an hour later it was fixed. Too bad I had to have my back shattered to get it fixed.

Thanks for the comments, I've spent a lot of time on it. If I wasn't so picky id be done, lol

That's terrible, it is very unfortunate but, you are alive and hopefully will recover 100%.

Any time man, I'm a huge fan of 1st gen 2dr 2wd Blazers. I'd be the same way, do it once and do it right, then change it and do it again, hah.
Lookin forward to your updates, take it easy.

How are you going to set up that radiator? I thought the LS motors were both connections on the passenger side?

I have about 20% of the parts for putting an LS/turbo 400 into my 93 S-10.

Will hook up just like a truck or escalade with an LS engine. The lower is on right bottom, and top is in upper left corner, you just cant see it under the fan in the pic. I am using the hose off an 05 escalade, should fit fine. Just like old sbc stuff too.

This is an escalade, same hose im using

ok.. I haven't yet seen the 5.3 I am getting because I still am driving the truck with the 4.3 in it that is going to be the trade out. He wont let me get the 5.3 first.

But anyways, good luck on healing up, I am a hefty fellow as well, 6'4 and 460, so me sliding into the cab of an s-10 standard cab makes for some interesting looks... LOL

Thanks, I was 6'3, 400. now I'm 6'1, that's how much height I lost because of the door. Lost 50 percent in several discs. I get told all the time I need a bigger truck, lol. Good luck on your build, definitely a fun swap

The list keeps growing on fractures too, its 6 total now, MRI had a lot of images to look at and they keep finding them. Its T7,T9,T11,T12 L1,L2. When It hit me, my whole body went numb and I fell. I knew something was broke, just didn't think it was that many because I just got up and walked it off. Wasn't gonna go to the hospital until it started hurting real bad.

Good call on the MSD box - love the way the intake looks!

Sad to hear about your back - hope things will get taken care of.

Man that is one nice Blazer. Sorry about your accident at work. I just bought a 89 S-10 and I have a 5.3L to put a carb on it and drop it in. I'd like to try to put a manual in mine. I like the wheels too. I was going to put the grey ones on my 84 Monte SS but it was stolen last year and hasn't been recovered. I might put them on the S-10, they look good. How much clearance you got in the back? I want to put the widest tire I can back there. Was going to go with 15x10 rallies and a 295/50 tire for now to get the ugly stockers off it and move up to a 17/18 combo later on.

I could have fit the 10 inch ones on there, just didn't know for sure. The 9.5 inch ones seem to clear good. Sucks your car got stolen, maybe it will turn up. I ran 295 50's on he rear, but 8 inch wheels though. They fit fine too
