Default gm performance intake
i'm new to ls engines. but time for me to get out of the dinosour age. i've got an 06 6.0 with 317 heads. will a gm performance parts intake # 38958675 work on this engine? is this a lq4 or lq9 engine?

Most guys like the Edelbrock offerings better. I have heard talk of people running faster with a Victor Jr over the GMPP, but I have never seen the results myself.

A 6.0L could be an LQ4 or an LQ9. LQ4 has dished pistons, LQ9 has flat top pistons. Best way to tell the difference is to pull a head to see the pistons. You may be able to insert a rod through the spark plug opening and tell.

If it has the flat top pistons it's the lq9 which also has floating rods and coated piston skirts...

The vic jr intake is almost an inch taller than the GMPP single plane. Edlebrock has some issues making the early ones but they are both quality pieces now.

your 06 lq4 with dished pistons will still have the full floating rods and coated piston skirts just for your info. They are a little better then the old style rods and piston combo found in 03 and older lq4s.

do you have list of what parts you used to put engine in your camaro? putting mine in a 76 camaro to drag race. were you able to keep transmission in stock location?
