Default Intake change

Well I should have got a Vic Jr. first, but I didn't. So I'm putting my Performer up for sale ( it has the mount for the MSD ). And am looking for a used cathedral port Vic Jr. for a Carb, naturally. If any one out there in LS land has one or wants to do some trading, I'm open.

yep im going to do some back to back runs from a performer to a vic jr tomorrow,, like to see what the diff is.... then going to rich up the carb for the jr and see if it helps...

I would be anxious to hear those results also. I've run 10.89 @ 125.42 with the performer on a 200 shot. My 60 ' was 1.60 1/8 mile 6.99 @ 100.99.
My pickup weighs 3500 w/o me , 3780 w/ me. I think I should be in the 10.60's , got stock 317 heads so that is probably holding me back some. We are closed for the winter, you must be south.
Let me know of the diff between the two manifolds.

I have a Vic jr I need to trade for a RPM. Don't think my little 4.8 with the small cam will really use a jr even with a manual Trans.

yep speedtrigger did one on his street drivin car,,, mine is a basic race car with glide and 4.88 gears,, i leave at 2000 ft break and soon i have flash to 3500rpm,, so it will see what at the rpm 3500 to 6000 will make any diff...

well got to run some but had some trouble here are the passes
1st pass shifter at 6000
1.468 4.469 7.001 96.82mph
2nd pass shifter at 5700
1.467 4.446 6.966 97.15
3rd same as 2nd
1.464 4.444 6.971 96.82
4th pass with vic jr same jet
1.504 4.472 had to let off because of lean 7.16
5th pass went up 3 sizes in jet front and back
1.502 4.49 7.01 96.80 still lean
so next pass went up 2 morefront and 3 back felt better doing burnout but broke something in rear end so let off as soon as i left.. so i guess it will be next year going to e85... but if u go to the vic jr u will have to go way up in jets becaue its flow alot more air,,,,

I had to go up 4 jet sizes when I made the switch.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be ready for that change. Was looking at my invoice from Pro Systems and it doesn't say what jets were used.So will have to break into it and find out.
Was that 4 sizes primary and secondary each ?

My Pro-Systems carbs were always with 1 jet size out of the box. Did you spec it for a Victor Jr. when it was built?

No it was spec'd with the performer and nitrous. I did run a 200 shot last time out. I guess I should give Patrich a call and see what he suggest.
