Default 5.3 heads

Will 6.0 317 heads fit a 5.3. If so would there be any benefit to 317's over the 5.3 castings?

Thanks

Terrible idea you would lower compression to much. Milled 243's ...better idea.

I had some 317s on a 2008 5.3, ran ok but did not wake up till 4000 RPM. That was with a 114 LSA. With a tighter LSA it would not be too bad, but I was running the newer 5.3 with flat tops, a older 5.3, I would probably never try it, maybe if you milled them .040, and ran a small cam you would be happy, but a set of milled and ported ls1 heads would work great for a budget if you can port yourself.
