Default stall speed

i have a th350 in my car thats staying when the ls1 goes in and trying to figure out what stall speed i should get. ive never driven a car with a big stall (usually had a manual car) so im not sure. i have an edelbrock 2216 cam and the rest of the motor is stock. there may be a turbo in the future though. i was thinking 3000? would 3200-3500 be to much?

3000 would be a good starting point but it really depends on the size of the turbo you run. When I had my grand national I had a 2800 stall with a 60 trim turbo and it seemed fine to me but people suggested I go with a bigger stall. What's your plans

my budy has 2 56's laying in his garage so i was going to use one of those to mock up and run for a short time till i could get a 60. the problem is i dont know if im going twins or not yet. its just about as easy to run twins as it is single and it would be a little more reliable. but ill most likely end up with a single 60. to run about 7-10 psi.

I just drove it too about 2 months ago to Clinton Illinois. Chicago is pretty big into racing so you would probably get a good deal shopping locally. Just thought I would try though. Thanks

Might as well leave a stock stall in it then lol. Go 3200 or higher, ls1s make torgue peak higher then older SBCs. Turbo or not, you'd be wasting your time with anything less then 3000 rpm. Esp with a descent sized cam. It will be a dog with a 2500 stall.
