Default Changed direction on project.

Looking for opinions and guidance.
I won't have to money to complete my turbo this winter so no I am going to be putting the boat back together with cam only. I was told that my cam wasn't all that good for a turbo anyways. I also need suggestions for pushrods, springs, and if this cam will have any clearance problems.
This is a gen iv 5.3
799 heads
1-5/8" sprint car longtubes
750 Holley sitting on a Vic jr.
Cam card

What kind of power and torque do you think it'll make at the flywheel?
What kind of springs? I do plan on going blow through in the future so I'd like to spend the money once.
What length pushrods will I need? Hardened?
Thanks

That cam on your set up should have a nice power range from about 3500 to 6800+ RPM and if I were going to guess probably 450 to 475 at the crank. With those 799 heads and Victor Jr on it, it is going to be a little flat down low, but should really like to RPM. I don't know what kind of powerband you need on your boat, so you will have to tell us if that is a good scenario or not.

As for valve springs, I like my PAC 1518s. They are nitrided for extra durability which would likely be a good idea in your boat where you will have sustained high RPM. If you have not milled the heads and that cam has a base circle about .030" smaller than the factory cam like a lot of aftermarket LS hydraulic rollers, then a 7.4 hardened pushrod should work. But, the right thing to do is to measure it with a pushrod length checker tool.

Thanks!
Below 3000 rpm I'm not moving. Once on plane, 3500 should be about 35 mph give or take. Then the boat pops up on a air pocket after about 50. I really would like more rpm so the powerband you posted sounds really nice. I'll look at your recommended parts. Should I use the stock lifters and rockers?

A lot of guys have had good luck just re-using the stock factory lifters. If it were me, I would replace them if the motor has more that 75k miles. And, make sure you inspect them closely for any wear or damage on the rollers. If you see anything that concerns you, I would replace them.

The standard upgrade from most everyone on this site is to install a trunion upgrade kit on the rocker arms. Most guys on here have used the Comp Cams kit, but I have been hearing that some are using a new kit from Summit. Harland Sharp also sells a kit with a good reputation.

I think speedtigger mistook your 5.3 for a 6.0. I'm guessing hp more along 400 or just over at the crank N/A. I agree with most everything else he posted though.

I saw the 5.3 part. You don't think it will do any better than that?

I don't expect all that high of power numbers. It doesn't really matter. Next winter I can resume the turbo build. Projections just help me guesstimate. Appreciate the input
