Default msd 6012 miss

I had the car running and ideling and driving then it sat for about a week and it wouldn't start and then I swapped plugs thinking maybe they were that fouled and I got it to start after about 3 min of constant cranking. It had a big miss and would only run as a add more gas as soon as I pulled my foot out of it it died. I tried to start it again and it wouldnt for the life of anything.

Sounds like sticking float(s). Opening the throttle is allowing enough air to get in and allow it to run, then when you let off there is too much fuel to run again.

Tap the float level screws, some times it works, I would pull the bowls off and clean them. Mainly the needle and seat. After sitting, today's fuel leaves powder in the system, and causes the sticking.

It could be clogged jets as well.

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. I've had backfires blow the PCV hose off.

Now that sounds like sticky floats .

Above 3K you are almost certainly out of the transition circuits and into the main jets. So maybe something physically wrong in the carb, a bad gasket or power valve seal, clogged air bleed, etc.

This happened to me and it was floats sticking. Too much fuel leaking at idle.

Be a good investment to get some fuel bowls with some sight windows , or some sight window screws ,so you can see the fuel level ,great for fine tuning also.

OK so I bought all new coils got a deal on it and it seems like the miss is still there but I can't get the engine to start right... it will start when its been sitting after I crank it for like 10 seconds and hold the gas at wot. But when I start it the miss is there so I killed it then it won't start for anything and the starter is not even turning over. Its a brand new starter and I don't understand how it ran so well before and just because it sat it won't run for anything now.

take off the air intake and let the fuel pump run and see if its leaking fuel out of the boosters. Then you will be able to tell if the floats are sticking for sure.

Nope its not I just bought new needle and seats and did a full rebuild ... I usually have the air cleaner off I haven't noticed anything.
