I know that tci has the scu ( speedometer control unit) it plugs in-between the tcu and hooks up the cable speedo to be driven by a electric motor. but was really hoping there was another way without have to spend the extra 400 bucks on it.

I been looking into it and I seen this thing called a Hall Effect Speedometer Sender it hooks up between the cable and trans and has a vss output. i'm thinking I can use that just have to figure out the ppm and sign wave on my 60e. and order one for the correct ppm to go to the tcu. then tha way my speedo will work and I can still send the signal to the ecm for the engine. I was reading and the 700r4 is something like 4000ppm and the 4l60e is 40,000ppm I don't know been trying to find exacts.

Which ones? 97-04 has a rear cam position sensor. 05 up has a front cam sensor in the timing cover, better rods too. The knock sensors on the later are moves to the outside of the block like the old school motors.

Trans and converter are in. Not i have to build a new trans X member and TQ arm mount. Makes the whole mustang swap more fun than the third gens.

Should work with ANY 4L60 or 4L80 as far as i know. The trans a good one? Mine is a 02 model. The 4L80 i am using in the TA is a 01 model.

Should have the drive shaft in tomorrow. Install the other sub frame. Finish the cooling system. Wire in the trans controller. Build trans X member. Find a home for the TQ arm. Try to make the dual 3 inch fit like it was so i dont have to pay to modify it. Install the shifter from the mustang and hook it up. Probably a few other odds and ends. Hope to be done tomorrow but i doubt i will.

They are all I use on all my swaps. Usually have to have a cowl hood, but using the stock 87-92 alternator can fit a stocker. But a carb with air cleaner usually doesn't anyway.

That's the only thing that has stopped me from doing a swap on my 83 camaro. i thought corvette accessories was the only thing that fit.

F body fits best i think. But if you are using a cowl to clear the air cleaner then the truck accessories are great. Especially for the price.

Ill be, there is no way to adapt the yoke fir the 80 to the stock DS. Gotta come up with 300$... If i knew this, i would not have built a DS for the stang.

Bump it up! Any updates? Are you going to post pics of the X-member and torque arm mount when you get them done? That's what I'm real curious about. Good luck!

Removed the trans coolers, ran 3/8 through the radiator from the 80E. Got the megashifter installed, went to install the brackets and run the cable, exhaust was a issue. Nothing a chop or two and a weld did not get situated.

Great news is, they cut the drive shaft a bit longer than i needed. Not much, but it wont go in. Going to take it to them later and see what they can do for me.

Got the temp sensor back in as well. Also got the trans mount so i can get the other sub frame in and get a trans mount made and mod the TQ arm and mount it to the X member.

I am getting ready to go through a L92 swap in my 91 Third Gen. So you are saying the 88-92 Alternator will fit in the truck accesory bracket? Looks like that is what you have done in the picture. If so that is great. Thanks for any info!

Yes, the passenger side bolts straight to the alternator so you have to remove the dowel that the factory alternator used on that side and a couple washers to space it out, preventing bind and makes a solid mount. The driver side bolt works perfect.

No, was a regular megashifter. Just removed the lock out pin so it could be manually dropped to 1st gear. I did research and found that the megashifter works with the 4L80s.

This is what it is looking like. Added one more brace since the pic, but it is in there and mounted. TQ arm had to be cut, bent, rewelded. Backed it with a plate to make sure it had all its strength back. Was a PITA since i am tired from removing logs that we had cut down for 2 days straight.

Think it should work though. The exhaust cleared on the driver side before the trans mount. Passenger side was a no go with the fat 80E trans. So, i will have both pipes remade so they are straighter anyway since this should allow more room for the pipes. We will see. That is more money though, but i did not expect either side to fit.

Your getting close my friend. I can't believe know one makes a 4l80e transmission x-member for these cars anymore. Looks like ill have to buy subframe connectors and make one like you did. What a pain!
