Default 86 TA new direction

As it is now, the mustang will be getting the 6.0 from my crushed truck instead of the TA. Figured I would get a 5.3 and AOD Trans later for the TA but with all the bad things that happened in my life, it has not stopped. My wife totaled the trailblazer a couple days ago. She is ok, but her back is bothering her and she is sore. So, the aluminum 5.3 from the trailblazer will go into the TA with the 2215 edelbrock cam.

So, the setup will now be as follows:

03 5.3 aluminum block
Eddy 2215 cam
.590 lift spring kit for the added rpm
Vic jr intake
Hawks 1 3/4 headers
Need a carb still
Just ordered a 3800 converter (n2o capable just in case)
The 4L80 Trans from my 01 silverado
Fast EZ TCU Trans controller
Moser 12 bolt 4.30 gears

So, make the best from the bad right?

Time to see what the 220/220 .510 lift cam offthr shelf from edelbrock is all about. I'll swap to some ported heads after I find some and hog them out....unless I change my mind and use the heads for the 4.8.

I'm curious to see what your impression of the 2215 cam is. Hope your wife is ok and feels better, back pain sucks, I know, 22yrs in the HVAC proves it.

Has 862s. I will get some 241 or 853s later and port them. But for now, finances limited, the heads will not even come off. Will be nice to see how it does with the cam and a stock long block 5.3 anyway.

Sorry for the bad luck. I'm curious on how you are mounting the tourque arm and trans x member. Also I've heard good things about that controller. Only problem is when people use that controller with a high converter, seems to act funny. Hope it works out well! I have a 01 6.0/4l80e as well and Ive been tossing the idea of putting it in the iroc, with a carb ofcourse.

Thanks man. I just build my own x member and weld a stock tq arm mount setup to it unless it has a spherical end. Then use a Polly mount.

Have a fast EZ TCU controller in my 94 gmc. Carbed 4.8, 2002 Trans, works perfect.

Ignition controller is here as well as the Trans controller. Thanks mike@skspeed!

Converter will be here tomorrow, but I got the Trans out of the 3/4 ton for the TA and the 6.0 that will go in the rustang:

I'm ok with the 2215 can in a 4.8 for the 91 RS, I was going to throw it in the 5.3 for the TA but ya know what? A 3800 converter and 4.30 gears would surely work better with the 2216 cam. So, just ordered it and it is on the way. The more I thought about it the more I would hate myself not to try the larger edelbrock grind with the setup that will support the 2216. So, I'll let you guys know how the 2216 works with the 5.3 and then the 2215 with the 4.8 when that comes together.

Cut the 5.3 out of the trailblazer today. Not sure if the TB was originally supposed to have a V8, but it came out with a bit of a fight. Had to cut up the front to get the damaged metal out of the way.

Going to try to prep it for cam install after i take car of some business. Fixing to hit the sack.

Here was some confusion and remax built and sent a 4l60 converter. Could not get the Trans in. Major setback and put the brakes on progress.

None yet, the rear mounts like normal, came up with the front like that on my own. Will have more when I finish up the sub frames.
