do you think this is going to beat a diesel?
K this is the question, I'm the muscle car guy in the diesel crowd, i work on diesels for a living butt got a gasser

Depends on the diesel, my bud has a built twin turbo, built trans, lifted diesel that makes 1363 ftlbs and 737 hp to the wheels. Fastest diesel truck I've seen. Idk how my trucks gunna do vs him but im aure his supercharged nitrous injected c5 zo6 will take me lol. What's this engine goin in? Your gunna need to mill the heads to bump the comp up. I've got a healthy cam lq9 with a carb and ls3 heads and a th400 w/ a 3600 ish stall. it rips pretty good in my 2800 lb gmc s15 pickup. We will see what it runs this year. Traction and tuning are the only issues so far.
Haha don't get me wrong I love some diesels they get down sometimes. It's going into a 68 firebird. One of my friends are rolling with a 6 speed and twins he's got 14 down the track . The more iv been reading on here I probably should of milld the heads just ran put of the green paper we all need.the cam is a 228 230. Those duramaxs in the video got some money in them

Haha ill pass on the 100 shot of the squeeze for now, ill look into that this coming winter, other than the kit what all would I have to do to make it hold that much ? Never played with n02. I just wanton drive it now that the snoows all gone.
Set it up right, good tune, and check plugs, check plugs, check plugs lol. I'm hopin to hit mine this year if I can get the suspension and tires dialed in to hook on motor. Got a wideband? Your gunna want that for tuning your carb too. Also do alot of reading of the stickies and forums and every reliable source to learn how to know when something's wrong or right. Learning is better than just reading, that way you know the signs of something wrong before it becomes disastrous. From what I've seen on a Ls engine in good mechanical order with the right supporting parts a 100 hp gain from nitrous isn't pushing the limits atall. Don't just spray and pray and blow your **** all over the street tho lol, I'm not responsible for anything you do to your car after reading this here lol.
I don't have a wide band im working on saving some money up to buy one. Haha **** iv been reading so much stuff on this forum. Iv already learns a lot about the engines. I plan on driving it with it running right this weekend hopefully. What are you running for a set up ?
I started with a lq4 I got from eBay. Shipped it from Maine and wa gunna just do a simple bolton upgrades to it with a small shot. The engine was so corroded and missing parts a small build quickly got out of hand. Ended up with just the block and crank for about 1400 bucks. Put ls2 pistons in it and arp bolts, a used cam motion cam (234/250 .619/.621 112+4), new ls3 heads and ls3 head gaskets, edelbrock victor jr, pro systems 4150 carb, brp (?) 1-7/8 lt swap headers, slp built th400, 3600 ish stall, 3.73 gears w/ full spool, stock rear end/axles, 24 inch tire. Too small tire too little weight in the rear= no traction lol. I'm gunna do the ford 8.8 swap with a full spool and axles then do like a 27" et street on some pro stars or somethin. I wanna just run it on the street so I don't wanna cage it lol
O **** sounds like a grate set up. Is be pissed about the engine tho I got lucky and picked a long block up for 1200. I drove it for the first time probably put about 50 or 60 miles on it. Ran grate butt after it runs for awhile and I kill it and go to start it up agin it doesnt wanton start unless I'm wide open. Any ideas ? I can also feel the lope threw my car when in drive really slow is that cus the 4 speed and 4 10 rear end ? Haahaha mine also has no traction at all lol
Mine does te same thing and I haven't been able to test my new ideas yet this year since my truck is still literally covered with snow. I think my timing is too low at idle and my carb might be alittle rich to cover up the issue it has of wanting to die at idle. You really need a wideband to tune these carbs right I say, some may disagree. I use mine and its very handy.
First things first, make sure your fuel pump, fuel pressure, and float levels are all good. (My fuel pump shut off when i was cranking due to being wires in the ignition wrong) then you can start with making sure your carb idle screws are set right (.020" of the transition slot showing) you have to have the carb off to do this. Then set your timing at idle and your idle mixture screws so you've got the right afr and idle speed.
Last year I blocked the wheels and worked on te idle afr with the truck in gear and not moving. Also before you year alot of stuff apart make sure you have good voltage to your ignition box during cranking.
Do all of these things but do them one at a time and check progress and compare with notes so you don't change too much too fast. Please ignore any spelling errors I'm driving down te highway writing this on my iPhone lol

My ignition box is wired to the battery with a toggle switch an in line fuse till I get a auxiliary fuse panel, its got a constant 12v. I'm also on ly phone so I'm not to worried about spelling. I got the fuel bowls at half mass, fuel pressure 6psi. The wideband won't come for awhile..no money. I haven't played with my own timing yet just been running to #1 pill
Someone told me it could be fuel wetting the plugs when you shut it off. Every time after I shut mine off and it wouldn't start I'd pulls plug and they were wet. I'm still leaning towards mine being too rich and too little timing at idle. I even changed my plugs to tr5's or maybe it was 55's lol. I just snapped a pic of my truck. I can see 1 mirror and the top of the antenna lol 7 feet of snow to melt might take a while. Post some pics and a bid of your ride?
Haha I'm trying to figure out how to post picks on here with my phone.

You are gonna have to hook. I got a 2006 LBZ Duramax dually with EFI Live and a 4" exhaust and busted a Harley Davidsons *** the other day. I know Harleys aint fast but you should have seen the look on his face when I went by him at 120. My truck is almost 10,000 lbs.
Vid sorry. You take that lbz to the track yet? My dads got a power stroke with a bullydog pmt 4" tbe and a intake and I'm sure it's still a low 15 second ride. Those dmax trucks are alittle faster but the op is more in the mid to maybe low 12 second car without knowing more about the car itself.
