Well last year i went to the track 1 time and was completely depressed when it went 13.2x. So i was gonna degree the cam in to make sure i installed it correctly and when i removed the valve cover i had a intake rocker off BINGO!!!! Nothing was hurt so put it back on and went to the track friday. I was pretty happy with the results considering it was the first full pass with the all new combo.

60' 1.77
1/8 7.79 @ 89.16
1/4 12.24 @ 108.76

This was leaving a 4000 on the tbrake. It didnt spin at all. I went thru in 3rd at 5700 rpm. I really didnt need to shift but wanted to see what it was going thru at. So it looks like some 4.56 gears are in my future and some 11's.

Your current gear might be about right if you planning using a power adder. Definately too high for this combination in NA form.

4.71's installed and im going to the track friday night to see if it helps. It definitely blows the tires off alot harder than before so hopefully it will make a big difference. 11.90's or bust!!!

Went to the track last night with the new gears. Best pass was the first one. Then it slowed down almost every pass after that.

1.77 60'
12.14 @ 110

Guess i need to losin the converter to get the 60 i want. i really thought the big gear change would help.
I tried moving the timing around but it ran best at 36 so thats where i left it.

What do yall think?

With a 4000 converter you should be in the 1.5s on your 60'. What kind of vehicle is it and how much does it weigh?

Its a 70 chevy shortwide truck. It weighs about 3500 with me in it. The suspension on the truck is coil overs all around. the truck hooks great and doesnt spin at all. i have been in the 1.4's with a big block in the truck so i know it works. It seems to hit really hard then it kind of bogs out of the hole. doesnt seem to act fuel related just seems like not enough power. if i could cut some 1.5 60's i would be runnin some 11.70's -11.80's which is what i was originally shooting for.

Nice run! I don't see why your trap isn't higher though? Decent heads and fairly lumpy eps cam should be running higher mph. Anyone else think so? Either way, you're working with what ya got...and it's working!
