Well that figures...for $20 it was worth a try. For $60 I'll have to do some more research to see if it is worth the cost!

Thanks for the P/N Wildcamaro!

If you do a lot of city driving with a lot of red lights and sittin in traffic then the 160* is the way to go...especially on hot days, my car was hitting 200 today so I had to alter my route to where I was going so I could keep moving...I thought the stock was fine but ill prob get a 160 when I can afford it

I got mine off eBay. 160* for less than 20 shipped. Dropped it in and haven't had a issue. 2004 lq4

Take it apart, stick a couple 3/16" pop-rivet washers between the 'stat and cover, put it back together. Might need to check it in a water pot and adjust the stack height before installing it. Less than 25¢ in cost...

New, abad71camaro was the seller. It says its for a ls1,2,6 for 2003 and up, but it works awesome in my truck pump.

Any newer gen V pumps can be swapped for gen III pumps to save cash.

I just use a stock one. I think they make peak power around 190 to 200. If the your radiator and fans are good, should be no problem to keep it there

Whatever stat you choose to run, drill a 1/8-3/16" bypass hole in it to help avoid air pockets in the cooling system.

I run a 160 on my carbed 67 camaro with lq9(maually controlled 4th gen fans and rad). Stays there all day, although Ive not had the car on the road yet in the elements of street and track use. Using the stock one in my 99 ss with the fans coming on at 185. It runs fine with no issues but is FI.
