Default edelbrok vs NOS nitrous jetting

Put a Eddy performer nitrous kit on a buddies 65 Mustang. Its the small kit adjustable from 50-75-100. Well on motor it traps 111. Turn the bottle on and went 124.99. That's a huge gain! Anyone else see gains like this? Is the eddy kit 100 rwhp or crank? Another buddy same day sprayed 150 and only picked up about 7 mph. The cars were about 1000 diff in weight. His was a NOS brand.

There are a ton of variables that can affect this. Compression, cam, exhaust, torque converter, gearing etc.

A low compression car with a big cam and a tight stall converter will pick up far more than a well optimized N/A cam with a loose converter. Then there is jetting and timing and all the other stuff.

I have also noticed that Edelbrock kits suggest bigger jetting per HP level. For example, my NOS Cheater plate says a 63n jet is a 150 shot while an Edelbrock Performer RPM nitrous kit says a 150 shot is a 68 jet.

Thsnks Speedtigger. The car is pretty optimized on the motor. It runs 11.91 at 111.8 so its pretty efficient. The bottle I think loves the 3.55's where as on motor would prefer more gear.

The gears are loving it, the car is 60 footing harder and allowing it to mph faster once its moving. If it was a low 11 car, the mph gain would not be so great.

Converter flashes 3500 and had the msd window switch turning on at 4000. Just enough roll out to keep it from murdering the tires.

Yea, that is interesting, mine flashes under 3000 so I will be trying to bring the dope in off the line if it will hold.

NOS kits are rated at flywheel hp. Not sure on the Eddy kits. NOS kits are also jetted conservatively as well. Best thing to do with a NOS kit is buy jet kit and tune it.

Yeah that digital window switch is cool. Depending on track conditions can play with it in 100 rpm increments. On a good track prep day will bring it in earlier and see how the tires will hold.
