Mine is about 3000 with me in the car, 3.73s with a way too tight converter for motor and runs 6.9s at 100. Once the 4.10s and a Trans brake with a converter that's built for this car, I'm willing to bet 6.5s will be possible. Even more if I ditch the unported 317s for some ported 243/799s.

That would please me. That was the goal. Although it's really faster than planned. I figured 6.50s at best.

Default haters

how often does a car that runs 107 in the 1/8th only pick up 22mph on the back half? what about it running 6.30s on the front then laying down so bad on the top end (like its only making 300hp) that its .3-.4 slower in the quarter than its 1/8th mile time indicates? hmmmm. it just looks suspicious. throw in the fact that it has been said that its just a rebearing & rering, no mention of honing to get the ring seal back out of the 100k motor that died from no oil pres, and no mention of even so much as a valvejob. yet I swear someone let the cat out of the bag on YB that the heads had been milled after some other questions. for a JY no oil pressure motor with only rings, bearings, cam, and valvesprings; it seems to be more as the layers on the onion are peeled back.

I could be wrong, but I know a very good tuner with a 2800lb s10 with a stock shortblock ls2, a NICE set of ported heads, carb, cam (not a cheap build) and it only runs 6.40s@106 on the motor. ive got another friend who has a turbo charged ls that runs 5.40s in the 4th gen, also has done a carbed 400" ls, ported heads, solid roller in a light fox body with a great suspension. this isn't his first ls rodeo and he buys nice ****, (hell Feustal built it) and he told me he would be happy with 6.40s. so when someone tells me a worn out, low compression truck motor will do it with a little cam I get a little skeptical.

Thats from another site I am on. He isnt taking into consideration when it went 129 in 1/4 the carb was junk. It only went a 6.59 in 1/8 mile. I guess I have a built motor now since I honed it out. lol

Fast....have you ever ran at a different track? The intervals on those slips are weird. Over 3/10 from 594-660? My car is slower than yours and picks that interval io in less than a tenth

Yeah, ran at about 4 tracks here local and they are all real similar. My best 594 is 5.93 and best overall et is 6.355 which was at jackson track and that 38 slip was at Clarksville tn. I understand what youre saying tho. I would look at my 1/4 mile slips, but they are at work. They were ran at bowling green and car was about 2 tenths slower. remember a while back i ask you about your slip? that was why.....it looks different from my spread. I dunno, it isnt like the car is done, cause its pulling hard at the 1/8 mile.

F-Stang...I was in no way implying that your car wasn't running those numbers....
EDIT: Nevermind...see it was another site.

I was only wanting to look at where I was off and need to put in some work.

No...been to cold to even try IMO, And work schedule (7 days last week w/ 12's Sat. & Sun for example) makes it rough with the Holidays being here.

Fast89stang... If you don't mind me asking how did you get the compression to 10.7 when the factory compression LY6 engine is 9.6? Did you have the cc on the head change to bump up the compression?

Did you use a thinner gasket too ? Otherwise you're around 9.8-10.0:1...if I did the math right at .006 per cc and a .020 shave.
I stayed with a .051 gasket and went .050 shave to get 10.4/5ish:1....or so I thought.

That is if you have a LY6 (LQ4 w/ L92/LS3 heads basically)

Not trying to bust your *****....your car runs GREAT !!
Just IF someone was to copy, they'd be scratching their head wondering where they went wrong. I just didn't want anyone mislead.

If I'm wrong let me know....I can handle it
